Uh oh.

If that's the future, we're screwed.

I think we've seen the last of the start Croyle over Huard threads.

what did Croyle do? My local affliate here switched to the Jets/Miami game.

Croyle threw a pick six.

And completed a few passes to Webb.

He telegraphed a pass that turned into a pick6.

He isn't as NFL ready as Lienart, but he has a rocket for an arm, and I hope that Shea can develop him.

He sucks

He sucks

He's a rookie.

What's your excuse?

If that's the future, we're screwed.

Go buy a vowel.

Jesus Himself would have difficulty looking off defenders as a rookie QB in the NFL.

I'm excited about our QBOTF!

If he is our future, well lets just say the future aint that bright.

The future's so bright,

I'm gonna poke my freakin' eyes out!

Just so I know, how much PT did Brodie get in preseason while he wasn't showing you anything?

Oh, and while you're at it. What did Huard show you in preseason?

He didnt show me shit in Preseason and this game he didnt show much either.

He's a rookie QB who missed time in TC and preseason due to injury.
It's the regular season now, so he isn't getting a lot of reps in practice, while learning on the chalkboard, and by watching.

And you expect him to come out and "show" you something.

The almighty Peyton ManinGina, even with a full preseason, and all the reps with the starting unit threw something like 24 picks in his rookie season.

But I guess a kid with a strong arm, who showed poise under pressure in the pocket at the highest level of college ball has no hope of ever developing into a quality starter, because he didn't show you anything in garbage time of a blowout loss.

Croyle is a thin rookie who had next to zero snap all week. If anybody thinks he should step in a game cold and immediately act like a savior they're crazy. He looks to have a lot of talent. But realistically he needs to develope. Next year, he'll have more knowledge of our 'O,' a whole off season to digest it and hopefully about 15 pounds of more muscle and then he will (hopefully) look more like a legit QBOTF. Any judgement of him this season is woefully premature. Don't forget even Trent was totally hung in a frenzy of premature collective judgement on this forum in his first year here.

I have to agree, as the person who originally made the "Start Brodie" thread. Dont judge him on what he does in garbage time, without much practice time (he doesnt even run the scout team offense, does he - that would be Printers' job). It's good to give him a little experience, but lets not make him timid, or get him hurt.

However, looking at our schedule, we're probably going to be out of the hunt by the time November starts. I think we'll see more of Brodie once December rolls around. In fact, I think if it was me, I'd pick a weak game at the end of the season (maybe the Raiders on Dec 23rd), and give Brodie a full week of practice and a start with the first team.

Don't flame me, guys - just throwing ideas out there.

He's a rookie, that got thrown in late, his first real action in the NFL, id say give him a chance jsut a bit....

10-15-2006, 06:28 PM
He didn't do anything I didn't expect a rook to do at this point of a worthless game.

I am not worried about him.

I also noticed he wasn't given much of a supporting cast. They pulled a lot of the starters on the plays I saw.
