Baseball season is officially over when football season starts.

Why are you mad, didn't the Jets win?

Baseball season is officially over when football season starts.
Those f*ckin Met fans and Dolfag fans are pissing me the f*ck off!!

And goddamnit I am venting!!! :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:12 PM
C'mon Reyes, get Cerrano out.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:14 PM
Reyes looks nervous. Got lucky against LoDuca and after getting ahead of Beltran, he walked him and has fallen behind 2-0 to Delgado and his Jobu doll

now 3-0

Dammit Reyes :cuss:

Bill Parcells
10-15-2006, 06:19 PM
Cool..let him settle down :)

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:21 PM
Well, we got through the first. Hopefully Reyes starts pounding his fastball more than relying on his wild changeup.

Hopefully we will beat around Perez like he beats laundry carts.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:22 PM
Eckstein gets good wood on it. 1 on, no out for the Speez.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:25 PM
Perez looks pretty good so far. His control has been better than I expected.

I just hope we hit like we normally do against him. The Cards have a .900+ OPS against him.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:26 PM
Albert WTF!! :cuss: That's twice that you've loafed when you should have been running it out on balls hit to third :cuss:

Bill Parcells
10-15-2006, 06:26 PM
Hamas..get the depends out..the Mets are about to soil themselves again..

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:27 PM
Predictably, that stupid cockscuker Encarnacion swings on the first pitch.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:29 PM
And Encarnacion GIDP to get Perez out of the first. Juan, you suck.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:34 PM
Green retired, but three balls have been spanked into center field.

Bill Parcells
10-15-2006, 06:36 PM
This is going to be an old fashion throwdown..last man standing..the pitching sucks on both sides

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:36 PM
Reyes pulls the string on pornstache.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:37 PM
Chavez rips a single to get the pitcher to the plate. Dammit.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:39 PM
and Reyes can't throw a motherf*cking strike against the pitcher goddammit.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:39 PM
Wow...Reyes walks the pitcher :shake:

Frazod
10-15-2006, 06:43 PM
Reyes sucks, but so far he's been lucky.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:44 PM
Reyes could be a servicable #3 at some point in his career...right now I'm just hoping he gets us through 5 innings with a lead.

Marcellus
10-15-2006, 06:45 PM
Someone is going to break it open and the Cards can't hit lefties for Sh!t.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:46 PM
Scotty Don't with a hit :thumb:

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:47 PM
Someone is going to break it open and the Cards can't hit lefties for Sh!t.

For the most part, this is irrefutably true. In Perez's case, we have an over .900 OPS against him as a team. We usually own him. I just hope that continues tonight.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:50 PM
Belliard has had a terrible at bat so far.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:50 PM
Nice hit Belly!!

Marcellus
10-15-2006, 06:51 PM
Here we go baby. Molina is hitting .348

Marcellus
10-15-2006, 06:51 PM
I would steal on this guy, he has a huge windup.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:53 PM
Yadi with the big hit, Belliard thrown out at third...with Cliff Floyd in left, he's easily safe.

Dammit Floyd :cuss:

Marcellus
10-15-2006, 06:53 PM
With the pitcher coming up you can't blame Belliard.

Or you can.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:54 PM
Hopefully the Mets' throats start to tighten up a little bit now that they are down a run.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:55 PM
I don't blame Belliard for that one...it was the right move with Reyes coming up. I thought he'd easily be safe, but that ball was spanked and Chavez put it in there.

Marcellus
10-15-2006, 06:57 PM
Yup. Now Reyes needs to calm down. He is getting ahead consistantly then trying to nibble it seems like.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:58 PM
Apparently Beltran likes living in NeYur.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 06:59 PM
GODDAMMIT BELTRAN F*CK YOU YOU COCKSUCKER

Marcellus
10-15-2006, 06:59 PM
Beltran has good taste in cars.

Damn!

Bill Parcells
10-15-2006, 06:59 PM
Damn it Beltran!!! :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:00 PM
Goddammit I f*cking hate that guy.

Marcellus
10-15-2006, 07:00 PM
Molina has to steer Reyes away from the change up.

Does he have a freaking breaking ball?

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:01 PM
And I hate that f*cking mole.

"Here's a quarter. Take a bus downtown, and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face."

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:01 PM
Jesus Christ. Launching Pad.

Marcellus
10-15-2006, 07:02 PM
Serving up freakin gopher balls.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:02 PM
Reyes couldn't have grooved that any better if he wanted to. Christ.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:08 PM
You stay classy, Tiger scout...

What a dirtbag.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:10 PM

'Hamas' Jenkins

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:15 PM
Hey everyone, it's the standard Rolen pop up on the first swing....you dumbass.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:19 PM
Reyes location on the 3 breaking balls he's thrown has been shitiful.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:22 PM
nice gameplan on Chavez there after the horrible, horrible leadoff walk.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:25 PM
Nice job getting the bunt down, Perez, you dumb f*ck.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:31 PM
Sounds like Reyes may be done. I doubt Tony wants the Mets 3-4-5 to get another look at him after tattooing him the last time through.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:31 PM
Edmonds just missed that one. 1 down. Apparently Reyes was tipping his pitches. Dammit rookie :cuss:

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:34 PM
Flores might be the guy given the glut of lefties in the heart of the Muts' order.

'Hamas' Jenkins
10-15-2006, 07:37 PM
Strike em out, almost throw em out...nice slide by Belliard. Good glove work Valentin ROFL

'Hamas' Jenkins

WilliamTheIrish

Right after that Valentin decides he's Frank White. Second time this series he's gone backhand and taken away a hit.

We've stranded a couple of runners, but we've also gotten timely 2 out hitting. I don't feel like we've pissed away a bunch of chances..

and as I say this, Belliard boots the goddamned ball.

WilliamTheIrish
10-15-2006, 07:43 PM

I've been here. This game's far from over. And I don't think the Mets win this series unless they take these last two games in St. Louis.

I am however sick of Joe Buck's home run calls for the Mets throughout this series. He sounds ticked off and doesn't offer up any enthusiasm.

Funny you should mention that because all the Cards fans think he's being too political and deferential to NY.

So let's say it's somewhere in the middle...for God's sake, the guy's dad is an icon in St. Louis. He's as tied to the history of that franchise as any announcer in any sport. Joe got his training wheels off calling Cards games for Fox Midwest. It would be impossible for him not to sound just a tad biased...but given the love that media outlets have for major markets, I'm sure it's ironed out other places.

Hancock and Thompson start off these last two innings and give up three runs and load the bases...

Coincidentally, these have been the two biggest bullpen liabilities for us in the playoffs, and yet we bring them out there.

I'm ready to punch Tony in the heart right now.

Maybe the worst day you can have as a sports fan...it's the worst one I remember

The Chiefs suffer their worst loss in 20 years and the Cardinals get absolutely destroyed in the playoffs.

LaRussa was at his idiotic worst in the 5th and 6th inning. Instead of starting off with Flores, who has owned the mets, the dumbass brings in that stupid cocksucker Thompson who gets absolutely shellacked, and then after Flores bails him out, he goes to Hancock, the only other guy in the pen to allow a run, and he gets dismantled. Then Tony waits to bring in Johnson to an impossible situation and the game is over.

Even better, when he uses up Duncan, his only true power threat off the bench, it is against a lefty when Duncan is a Mendoza-line hitter against LHP.

This is ridiculous.

As if that weren't enough, I'm in the middle of Steeler country, and will have to listen to this stupid shit all week.

And thank you fantasy team and the pieces of sh*t I traded away to wait and f*ck me one last time.

There's nothing sadder than a Yankee fan rooting against the Mets.

Get used to rooting against the Mets in the post season, you'll be doing that a lot in the coming years while the Spanks age and continually get bounced in the first round.

Are the Cardinals any different? They pretty much have just Pujols, with a Duncan sprinkled in. That's the way it is with most major league teams, save for the A's or Twins.

The Mets and Yankees are vastly different, even putting aside that the Yankees have twice the payroll. The Yankees build their team with trying to get all-stars at every position. The Mets picked up guys off the scrap heap to round their team; Jose Valentin, Endy Chavez, Chad Bradford, Darren Oliver, Guillermo Mota, ect.

The Mets have a 100 million dollar payroll, and it's actually 92 if you don't count the 8 million they're paying to Kaz Matsui. And you're not seeing the 12 million or whatever we're paying Pedro, or the 8 million Floyd's getting at this point.

The Cardinals are not the Royals.

Those are how much those players are getting paid. Not how much the Mets are paying them. The Mets aren't paying much of Green's, El Duque's, or Mota's salary, for instance.

The Mets payroll is 100 million and it's been basically that for a while now. They've stated they don't have the budget at the moment to raise it up to 115-120. That's why they had to dump salary with Kris Benson(7 million) and Mike Cameron(6 million) to make room for the Delgado trade(13 million).

Well ok...they don't pay much of Mota's salary, but they paid Cleveland cash for him...Why would Cleveland give the guy away for Cash and pay a huge chunk of his salary?? :spock: They are paying to not have a player and getting nothing in return...I know often teams will pay a good portion of a player's salary, but when they get prospects, or parts in return. All Cleveland got was cash and a "player to be named"...that's just nonsensical.

They didn't trade Mota for cash. They traded him for a PTBNL. They were trying to rid as much payroll as possible.

I think you're underrating just how low Mota's value was in August. Nobody wanted him.

I could be. He was lights out in LA...didn't follow him in Cleveland. But still, unless the Mets are assuming the back end of a longer contract, it just doesn't add up from a business perspective.

He was awful for them and he hadn't been very good since he was in LA. The reason the Mets traded for him was because Lo Duca put in a good word for him, and apparently Mota loved pitching to Paul because he was the catcher when he was at his best.

I'm sorry..but WTF would you know about that???

I know a lot about it.

My whole family is a bunch of crybaby Yankee fans that root against the Mets.

You're no different. I don't care that this is the Mets first post season since 2000. What you should care about is that the balance of power is shifting to Queens. Mets have a much more solid young core of position players and pitching.

So far, in the last three post seasons, the Yankees have choked away a 3-0 lead, lost to an inferior Angels team and lost to a Tigers team that was about 1/3rd their payroll.

Mota is a free agent after this year. The Mets are on the hook for the prorated vet. min. the rest of the season.

The mets have a Young Wright, Reyes, and a 29 year old Beltran.

Valentin is 38, LoDuca a 34 year old catcher, Floyd is on his last legs, and Green is probably gone after this year.

Delgado has 1 or 2 productive years left.

Pedro is breaking down. Glavine is north of 40. Wagner's best days are behind him. Your other SPs are El Duque (could be 50) an ancient Steve Trachsel.

Maine is young, and Milledge is a good prospect who really hasn't done much yet.

That's not the '96 Yankees, IMO.

5. Shawn Green 10,213,898
6. Paul Lo Duca 6,600,823

9. Victor Zambrano 3,000,000
10. Roberto Hernandez 2,750,000
11. Steve Trachsel 2,500,000
12. Oliver Perez 1,900,000
13. Chad Bradford 1,400,000
14. Julio Franco 1,050,000
15. Jose Valentin 912,500
16. Chris Woodward 825,000
17. Ramon Castro 800,000
18. Endy Chavez 500,000
19. Jose Reyes 401,500
20. Duaner Sanchez 399,500
21. David Wright 374,000
22. Aaron Heilman 359,000
23. Juan Padilla 333,000
24. Anderson Hernandez 327,000

Pedro and El Duque aren't listed...Pedro makes almost 15 mil, and El Duque makes like 4.6......which I guess puts you over 120 mil

The Mets payroll is just over 100 million.

The Marlins absorbed 7 million of Delgado's deal this year. Mota makes the veteran minimum after the Indians cut him and the Mets signed him. The Mets are only one the hook for 4 mill of Shawn Green's contract.

Trachsel and Floyd are gone after this year. So probably are Duque and Shawn Green. Valentin probably won't be their starting 2B next season either.

They've got some good young pitching prospects who could help next year. Pelfrey and Humber are blue chippers, and it'll be the first season Oliver Perez has with Rick Peterson. I also expect them to make a run at a Barry Zito in the offseason.

Milledge is 22. Carlos Gomez is 21. Fernando Martinez might be their best young player in the minors. They have Humber, Pelfrey, Oliver Perez, John Maine who are all under 25 years old.

They have young replacements for every position except 2nd, catcher and first over the next 2-3 years.

The Mets are very well built for now and the future.

And they have money to spend to upgrade those positions they aren't so young at.

The only thing I would argue is that Perez is on his third team and he's under 25....

Who built most of that Phillips or Minaya??

I don't care about your "26 WSC".

The only thing that matters is this season.

That's the problem with Yankee fans. They want to date history to benefit them. The Mets still have a shot at this WSC, which the Yankees don't.

The Yankees haven't won in 6 years. 6, or 20, it's no different. It was a long time ago.

Enjoy watching the playoffs while other team's fight for the trophy. It's going to be something you're used to for a while.

Minaya. Phillips gets credit for drafting Wright, but apparently he was close to trading him to Toronto for Jose Cruz Jr. at one point. The Blue Jays just turned it down. :shake: Phillips also gets credit for signing Reyes.

Minaya has actually made this a winning franchise. He brought credibility back to the Mets.

It's kind of a mix.

Since Minaya was Phillips assistant Gm, he had his hand in everything.

Phillips drafted Wright, Minaya was key in getting Reyes to sign with the Mets.

Jim Bowden drafted Humber and Milledge. Minaya took Pelfrey.

I think Rick Peterson is the wild card with Perez. If he could get him fixed this off-season then the X Nady trade was a true steal.

I'm rooting for the Mets because I'd love to see Beltran get a ring. The guy played his heart out when he was with the Royals and I really don't blame him for wanting to move on. Oh and there's the fact that I hate the tards and everything they stand for. I'm hoping the 85 curse continues and St. Choker pisses away another promising season.
