Just a quick news update to anyone who actually cares.
I enjoyed watching the "House Band" each week more so than the "show" per say.

Anyway Tommy and the Boy's cited "finincal reasons" as to why the House band, Storm and Magni got axed from the tour.

http://rock-star-mania.com/rock-star/2006/10/13/storm-large-and-magni-dumped-from-rock-star-supernova-tour/

Portland performer Storm Large (http://www.rock-star-mania.com/the-contestants/Storm-Large.php) — along with Icelandic rocker Magni Asgeirsson (http://www.rock-star-mania.com/the-contestants/Magni-Asgeirsson.php) — has been effectively axed from ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA’s touring roster.

The two rockers, who were embraced by home-viewing audiences throughout the run of last summer’s CBS reality series “Rock Star: Supernova”, had been asked by the concert’s producers to perform on the tour for ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, the band now composed of Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted, Gilby Clarke, and series winner Lukas Rossi (http://www.rock-star-mania.com/the-contestants/Lukas-Rossi.php).

But Magni and Storm, along with the show’s house band, were cut from the tour late Wednesday, web sites are reporting.
The reason cited? Financial.

TMZ.com is reporting that the show’s finalists, Australian Toby Rand (http://www.rock-star-mania.com/the-contestants/Toby-Rand.php) and <A href="http://www.rock-star-mania.com/the-contestants/Dilana-Robichaux.php" target=_blank>Dilana (http://www.rock-star-mania.com/the-contestants/Dilana-Robichaux.php) Robichaux, are still on the bill. They will be backed, however, by Rand’s group JUKE KARTEL.

Commenting to her fans on her own site, Storm seemed to take the blow with humor.
“They SAY it’s financial,” writes Storm, “but I know what REALLY went down … I clearly haven’t slept with enough people. I thought I got all of em’ but a few were kinda squirrely and escaped my lusty grip. DANG IT!!”

But Storm asks that fans still make the gig, even if she isn’t performing, as the artists who will be performing (including Dave Navarro, who laid guitar tracks for a new version of her song “Ladylike”) had nothing to do with the decision.

The boy's are clearly selling out.
Gilby, Tommy, and Jason make millions in royalities from the bands they "used" to be in.
Especially Gilby now that Axl has finally released the new album 9 years later.
There's a whole new generation starting to learn about GnR now. :thumb:

And you know they made a mint on the TV show.
This is utter BS in my book.

Honestly I could care less what they do or don't do on this tour. I'm looking forward to Ryan, Magni, and Storm's albums, even Rand's to a lesser degree.

ScooperNova can suck my left one. If it wasn't for the other complete hacks in the Motel Crew SuperNova would be a compilation of the least talented musicians from their respective bands.

ROFL

Although I'm not quite sure that's true for Lee. None of the members of Crue were particularly talented...

This is absolutely, unequivocally untrue. Gilby Clarke was nothing but a hired player in GNR, though he did appear on the cover record, "The Spaghetti Incident". Royalties would be paid to the original composers, not to GNR members. The album royalties (Artist) is about 14% of retail selling price. That amount is then split by the band members that appeared on the record and their manager. That certainly isn't anywhere near "millions", especially given that TSI barely sold 500k copies.

Axl has recorded over 110 songs for the next GNR record and none of them feature nor were written by Gilby. So no dough there. Gilby's main source of income is from his wife's clothing line, Frankie B's jeans (named after their daughter).

Jason isn't making "millions" because he no longer a member of Metallica, and therefore isn't making any money for their sold-out worldwide tours. Of the Metallica albums that Jason appeared on, he wasn't a writer or co-writer and would only be eligible for his split of album sales (they negotiated 19% of retail during the mid-90's). Considering the sales of those records are far, far past their heyday, I seriously doubt that he even sees $100k a year in album royalties. And that's a huge stretch factoring in illegal downloading. I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to $50k. But the figure certainly isn't anywhere near the millions.

Motley Crue hasn't had record that has sold more than 500k units in the US since Dr. Feelgood. They're basically a touring band, living off their former glory. Tommy Lee's made more money off of his television show last year, Rockstar Supernova and his own solo project "Tommyland: The Ride" than he's made from Motley Crue's album sales. He's making a boatload from touring with the Crue though. I haven't seen the attendence figures but I'm sure that Tommy will make "millions" from this tour.
