If you had to choose between Barack Oabama and Hillary Clinton for President in 2008, who would it be?

Not even close.

I would support Obama, soley for the fact that conservateives loathe Hillary. I dont know that this nation can stand to be any more politically divided. Just like, as a Dem, I would be open to the idea, maybe even vote for Gen. Powell as a Republican candidate.

Powell would have a good shot at getting my vote as well.

Yeah, Obama. I really am not much interested in hearing about Whitewater, the Rose Law Firm, whether or not she should have stuck by Bill during numerous affairs, and the whole circus revisited.

Note, we're discussing a black guy versus a woman. The sociologists will be very interested if these two are indeed the front runners for a national party in the Presidential election.

I still like Gen Wesley Clark personally.

I am not a Dem, but I think the only way I would vote for Hilary was if Bush repealed the 22nd Amendment and ran again.

I'm actually of mildly mixed emotions on this. I don't wonder if winning both houses of congress but losing the Presidency wouldn't be better, so we don't get blamed for "losing" an Iraq that is already lost.

Oh, that's right, we don't control squat and we're still getting blmaed for losing Iraq. Never mind.

I doubt if I could support a democrat for President during this important time even if he/she was a favorite of Mr. Kotter's wing of the party.

i'll say it again ........ the only real positive about Hillary Clinton getting elected is that Bill will be back in the white house.

i'm sure he can/would help clean up the existing mess.

shocker....

imagine that, a jihad right-winger wouldn't support a non-republican.

Neither one can win.

True. And it's a sad truth of our country that here in the 21st century, you would have record numbers of dipshits lined up to vote either of them down, because one is black and one is a woman. Not necessarily what they believe or stand for, but just that one is black and one is a woman.

In my history of presidential elections, I've voted for more non-Republicans (4) than for Republicans (2). I've voted against a Bush three times and for one only once. Even when it comes to George W. Bush himself, I've voted against him as often as I've voted for him. I've never worked on the campaign of a Republican presidential candidate, but I worked on the campaign of a liberal democrat from Massachussets who I thought was a good man. And despite this history of opposing Republican presidential candidates, I still wouldn't be able to bring myself to vote for any forseeable democrat. :p

That might be why they'd lose democrat votes, but conservatives would have plenty of issue-based reasons to vote against them.

Oh, for sure.

I'm just saying you'd have every biggot and rascist turn out to vote against them because they hate blacks and/or women, and couldn't stand it if one or the other were president.

Well, with Hillary there are lots of people who don't like her for a variety of reasons. I don't know a lot about Obama, but you are right, he can't win because he's black. Now I know the democrats have some electable possibilities, but it seems to me that they are either going to toss up the same old boring stiffs like Kerry/Gore or they're going to put up a shock candidate like HRC. Either way they lose.

This is undeniably correct, and as long as the old guard of the DNC continues to control its "vision" or lack thereof, this will continue to plague them.

The dumocrats should run a Obama and sHillary they are the pulse of America. Just ask any liberal city dweller.

What better way to get all the convservatives out to vote.

A Great plan just what the party needs more great ideas on to win.

I'd prefer neither.

Hillary is a political opportunist with more baggage than a year's worth of flights from London to New York.

Obama is charasmatic as all hell and he comes across as sincere and not your typical politician. But really hasn't shown true leadership yet.

My choice is Feingold -- he's conistent, principled, and able to get things done. He's been one of the few sane voices from either side of the aisle for the past six years.

Of course, a twice-divorced Jew has about as much of a chance as getting elected as I do, for the same reasons Obama would have issues -- there's still too many racists/bigots/anti-semites.

I really hope that Brock is wrong, and the Dems put forth a viable candidate that's a bit more than the cardboard cutouts Gore and Kerry were.

Obama WILL have his day, but it will not be now if he runs. This election is McCains to lose IMO, he needs pimp slapped for his "American workers cant/wont do this work" line, but if he rectifys that remark i believe he gets America's vote. Hillary,if she runs, will be a sacrificial lamb, a first failed attempt by a woman to become PREZ. Do i want John or Hillary to go draw the line for some maniac like ahmadinejad or jong il etc. :hmmm:

The only bumps I like more than the meme/Big Daddy ones are the threads about national polls from last summer/fall where everybody was freaking out and saying, "Oh no, Clinton has a huge lead! It's over," and I was all, "Shutttttttt the **** up, Obama's in great shape."
