View Full Version : Prayer Request: For Pops

BIG_DADDY
10-24-2006, 10:34 AM
Pops was diagnosed with bladder cancer recently and just completed tuberculosis therapy. They went back in yesterday and the visual was very bad. Doctor believes it is very aggressive and they are going to have to pull his bladder immediately and it looks like it has expanded into his kidneys. Lab tests come back Friday. This is a 70 year old man that rode his Harley across Canada this year and just quit running marathons a few years back because of his knees. He still has Buel and his KTM dirt bike and rides. From what looked like totally healthy to this. I am a firm believer in prayer and will take any one I can get for him at this point. Thanks

Sorry to hear BD. I still remember the pic you posted of you two on your guys' ride.

Anything can happen when they get older. The only thing I have noticed with him is his memory isn't quite what it used to be. I thought he was healthy as a horse though. The only thing he has done wrong in his life is drink too much. His stress level has been too high for too long as well. His diet is awesome though. He does hella cardio and lifts weights. I remember him telling me few years back not to leave this world before he does and actually thinking it could happen especially since his mom is still alive and going to be 99 this weekend. It really came out of left field I would have expected it from my mother but not him.

Yea the Harley trip rocked, I just wish we could do it again but that most likely will never happen. You gotta make the most out of the time you got you never know when it will be gone.

My dad is 79 now and follows a strict diet and exercise schedule. If I got that kind of phone call today it would surely be a shock, but in the back of my mind I know it could happen at any time. I'm sorry to hear about your dad , a man only has one in his life. It's gotta be tough. My prayers are with you, your dad, and your family.

Thanks. Yea he is a tuff old goat. Talked to him last night and he sounded unbelievably well. Says his body feels really good ever since he went on the organic diet he is on. He cracked a bunch of jokes and talked about the work he is getting done around the house since he is being forced to stay at home this week. Dude never quits working I swear. Spends the rest of his time reading on health and diet preparing himself for whatever comes next. He is super positive and I'm sure in his mind the cancer doesn't stand a chance. Before he went in for his tests he got up at 3 AM and did his cardio and upper body weight routine. If I end up being even half as tuff as him I will be happy.
