Anybody get the feeling now that the shit might be about to hit the fan bigtime that Dick Cheney's looking for the back door to the White House? He's been awful silent lately.
Anybody else see a heart problem on the horizon?

Naw, just making an observation before it becomes reality. I mean, com'n, here we are with the mid-terms just two weeks away (and not looking good for the republicans) and Cheney is nowhere to be found. Isn't he supposed to be the voice of reason for the retrocon agenda? Isn't he the mature adult that always steps in and saves the impudent Bush, Jr's ass from the fire? You'd think they'd want their mightiest asset out there showing us how silly we are for not getting it.
You guys haven't been paying attention have you? If you don't think that the shredders have been going full bore at the White House and Pentagon for a couple months now then you are naive. Sorry.
IMO, it's likely that Cheney's strange absence during the throes of America's discontent has something to do with his heavy-handed influence during the imposition of policies viewed as extreme, even within the Washington establishment and the intelligence community.
That said, the last thing the republicans need is Cheney out there playing his usual role as the "prince of darkness" when they're trying to convince the American public that they are the victims of circumstance, and that democrats are the ones who are evil. And it is probably in Dick Cheney's best interest to spend his time on planning either a cozy retirement or on his legal defense.
Maybe the Energy Task Force meetings will absolve him from any wrong-doing.

Any body else get the feeling that Penchief cries himself to sleep at night, curled in the fetal position, thumb in mouth?

Naw, don't do that either. I'm content with my own life but I'm very disillusinioned with how our country is being destroyed by our own complicity.
Besides, I was just making an observation about the noticable absence of the republican party's big gun. What's up with that? Why isn't Cheney out there promoting your party's virtue?

I think it's more likely that Cheney's approval rating is 19% and the RNC and local campaign advisors are saying that their candidates don't want to be seen with him and he needs to stay in the bunker.

No kidding. I don't understand why the need to fabricate some nefarious conspiracy theory.

You lefties are so forgetfull. Cheneyburton had a non-bid award during the CLinton Admin in 90's why is it different now?

Why is Cheney's approval rating only at 19%? I mean, he's the Godfather of the new republicans, right? He's the quarterback of the Bush presidency. Why ain't he playing late in the fourth quarter during a game in which his team needs him badly?
Even so, I'm also suggesting that if the democrats do take control of the house and investigations are warranted..............
I'll bet Cheney's scoping out his escape route as we speak. I'm sure his buddies, James Baker and Ted Olson, will come to his defense.

And Dick Cheney subverted sanctions against Iraq while he was CEO of Haliburton. What's your point?

Hey! I never used 'Secret Energy Cabal!' I think you got me mixed up with Jaz or something.
Here's my list:
Cheneyburton
Bushron
Bushco
Super secret Energy Task Force Meetings
Retrocons
Power quo
Power elite
Rubber stamp republican Congress
Lock-step republican congress
Empty suits
Business suits
Liars
Self-serving greed mongers
Neofascists
Corporate welfare
Corporate subsidies
Lip service presidency
PR presidency
Propogandists
Orwellianites
etc.
I could go on but you get the picture.
At some point I hope that the reality of this administration's own words and actions combined with this country's fundamental honesty will save the day despite Bush's betrayal of what we stand for.
