Why did Brodie Croyle take most of the snaps at practice today? Is Damon Huard injured? Is he injured?

This was just reported on 6110am radio. They are looking into it. They don't have any answers yet.

I'm sure he isn't hurt or anything... Maybe he just got a sore arm from playing the last few games... Poor man has thrown more balls in the last 4-5 weeks than he has his entire career... Maybe they are just resting him for a day...

I notice that the injury report was updated today (notice the disclaimer about Seattle's DNP's at the bottom). That indicates that our DNP's ARE indicated. If Huard was hurt in any way, he'd be on there.

Huard has exceeded expectations but Croyle has probably been taking a lot more snaps in practice since Trent went down. It's not inconceivable to think that he may have raised enough eyebrows that the organization has an interest in seeing what he can do when given the reins.

I like that scenario and hope it's true. That said, if he were making noise in practice you'd think we would have heard by now.

He's definately not ready, but he's in the NFL, andhe has to show up. Herm will just go back to predictable and do what he did in the Donky game. He will limit the ammount of mistakes Brodie can make.

A friend of mine was talking to a friend of his who was at the Chiropracters office. Seems as though my friend's friend had his appointment postponed because Huard's SUV was rear-ended and had come in for some work to his neck. From what my friend's friend overheard when Huard was filling out the insurance forms it sounds like a case of whiplash.

I also was visiting with a minister friend of mine who has ties to the church in KC where Herm attends, seems as though there were calls circulating around the church because Herm wanted them to ask people to pray for Huard because he had been in an accident.

Sounds pretty serious. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Huard retires and Croyle and Printers have to carry us through the rest of the season.

Seriously, with Hasselback out and Alexander doubtful, it is possible that they are wanting to give Croyle a little work for that very reason.

Merrill says Huard has an injury, but doesn't know where or how bad. She also said Huard didn't do the usual Thursday QB press conference today because he was attending an NFLPA meeting, which made whatever happened to him not sound all that serious.

Damon Huard suffered an undisclosed injury in practice Thursday.
Huard was hurt towards the end of the workout and missed the post-practice media session. His status for Week 8 is now in doubt. Rookie Brodie Croyle, who threw two interceptions in mop-up duty against Pittsburgh and was horrid in the preseason, will start if Huard can't play. Heavily downgrade all Chiefs pass catchers this week if Croyle starts. Oct. 26 - 11:53 pm et

HORRID in the preseason. I don't think I would go that far. He was a rookie in the preseason making rookie mistakes. I wouldn't classify it as Horrid though.

For what its worth, according to Joe Bryant at Footballguys.com(a fantasy sight)>*** Thursday Update *** QB Damon Huard (KC) Keep an eye on Huard. According to Metro Sports, a local cable sports network in KC, the Chiefs were practicing indoors today because of the bad weather here and near the end of practice, Huard felt a twinge in his groin and left the field quickly. Croyle finished practice out with the first team. The team has not officially said anything yet so stay tuned.

OK. This truly sucks.

Yet, there could be a glimmer of golden sunshine on the horizon. Huard looked terrible in pre-season. So did Brodie. Huard hadn't played in many games. Neither has Brodie. Huard talks like he's about 12 years old. Brodie is about 12 years old.

Perhaps we're not a doomed as I thought.

Do you actually think that Huard will miss a game for a sore sack? Give me a break. He's in the frigging NFL, if you had the chance to be a starting QB after a lifetime of a backup AND you were having some success??? Would you miss a game with a minor injury? I would need to lose my f*cking passing arm to sit out, If I lost my non throwing arm, I'd still play. Ala Steve Deberg and the compound fracture on his finger.

HE WILL PLAY. Take a pill and play hurt.
