I think Larry Johnson is doing a Hermon Edwards impression....and nailing it.

I mean.....NAILING Sermon Edwards. Awesome impression.

Sermon starting.

this week, big game with rams....haven't beaten winning team on road yet this year. good team on offense, defense is getting turnovers and pressure, sack qb...very tough with a lead in the loserdome.
great wrs and qb.....have about 30 plays over 20 yards downfield this year.

On road, Chiefs are -4 in turnovers on road....have scored 36, given up 74.....have to play better.

Says 30 is enough carries for Johnson. Said 39 was too much....Herm has a chart, approached Larry....carries got away from him at the end. He keeps track of touches....lost track of LJ in 4th. 9 carries in last series. had 80 offensive plays, 53 rushes......backs are going to get carries....that Time of possession won't happen alot obviously. this isn't a problem

Iowanian
10-31-2006, 11:59 AM
Treats each player as individuals..his door is open...he busts on them sometimes, talks about personal issues....each has their own hot buttons.....enjoy working with players...they're like his children....individuals, but at the end of the day, they have to be part of the family or something.

LJ isn't a vocal leader...knows sometimes people take his facial expressions the wrong way ????

Says he was frustrated early in the season...but he's making an effort to be more "cordial" in the locker room. Mike is doing a better job of calling plays, mixing things up.

Johnson should be sore....he's back to back 30+ carries in games. Curtis Martin did it, lj is on his same schedule......conditioning, healing....time off in treatment room, rubdowns etc.

did he talk when priest is coming back?

Iowanian
10-31-2006, 12:02 PM
It was tough to get players the ball(I think 88 has been asking for the ball?)....too many 3 and outs. tough to get people the ball. Last 2 weeks, had good matchups.....in last couple of weeks, biggest improvement with 88 has been YAC.

Iowanian

Iowanian
10-31-2006, 12:03 PM
Herm says he's not worried about Gonzo....he's been frustrated at times, he's not getting the ball enough...like every player. expects he'll get doubled now, and open up others.

Thinks he'll be here a long time, but he's not worried about it. At the end of the day, 27 and 88 are good players.

Iowanian
10-31-2006, 12:05 PM
Thinks 88 plays like a HoF player because he is and does....doesn't have any affect of contract status..."tony gonzalez wants to win" He's not playing harder for a contract.....he wants to win.

Ask Carl about Priest....

Iowanian
10-31-2006, 12:07 PM
Priest holmes....good question.....talk to carl, he talks to priest.

trent is moving along quite nicely, but is going to the doc today.....to see what he can do this week. He's getting ready to play here in the next couple of weeks or so....Its on the doctors, when they say he can play, he will....we'll get him involved with team activities.

only contact Green will get before the first start is a hug from Herman.....never live tackle in practice....sure wont' with green.

He'll have to hope for protection in pocket, when he gets tackled, he'll shake it off and move to the next play

Iowanian

Herm knew Solari would be better coordinator in week 8 than week 1...he's more confident in what he wants to do. Communicates with herm between series, gets advice from herm in situations to be on same page....talking about it before 4th down.

Solari getting more comfortable with players, situations in games.....at times, now you can hear his confidence on the phone....first game, maybe he wasn't. now he gets mad if they're not scoreing within 3 plays inside 5.

Reerun_KC

Yelling at the players and through the headset.... Herm said he can hear you, but the players cant..

Kind of amusing....

Iowanian
10-31-2006, 12:12 PM
Herm communicates much the same way with Gun..."hey, this is what i'm thinking, what are you thinking"...other than that, they call the plays. You hire coaches because you trust them....why not trust them when the game starts? Trusts they'll make the right calls.......never seen a coord make a call he didn't think it would work.

Brought Pennington back after injury in 2nd quarter of a game.

Vs Rams.
1. can't turn ball over
2. must control Time of Possession
3. can't get behind in 1st quarter
4. must control their running game first.
5. Must manage this game.....don't want the stL fireworks and circus in town. they're fast.
