View Full Version : Carl, DV, Elvis Bandwagon forms here

01-11-2001, 03:09 PM
Carl just signed a new 5-yr contract as GM. He made a bold move to get whom he considers to be the best HC in football. He has done very well when he has had a top 15 pick in the draft (DT and Gonzo).

DV is our coach for the next 3 years at least, barring the unforeeable. He is the only SB-winning HC to head up the Chiefs since Hank Stramm. He will put together a good staff.

Elvis will be the Chief's QB for the forseeable future. He compiled some of the best stats in the league last season, and even led some game-winning drives last year. At this moment he is clearly better than 3 of the 4 QBs left in the playoffs, so that means he is at least good enough to get us to a SB.

These are our guys. We have a fresh start with the coaches and a #12 overall pick in the draft. Its time for optimism, not pessimism. I'm behind them all 100% for the next 3 years. If we don't start looking better by then, I'll start calling for Carl's head, but now I'm just glad Gunther and the Stooges are gone, we can leave the past behind, and look forward to the new season.

Jump on board, there's plenty of room, and no matter how it comes out, its guaranteed to be a WILD RIDE!!!!

Save me a seat next to HC_Chief.:D

We can while away the hours debating LB Vs RB.

looking forward to next season.

I'd like a window seat near the front, please.

I'll ride shotgun! I've been on this ride 37 years and not ready to get off yet!!

01-11-2001, 03:35 PM
OK, now this is weird....

I post a smile, it does not work (yes, I am sure the 'disable smiles in this post' is NOT checked). I edit the message, then submit changes; smiles show up.

Weird... very weird!

Gaz - tell you what, figure out a way Dan Morgan is available at #12 and obtain Cory Dillon or Fred taylor w/o having to surrender the rest of our picks or players, and I'll agree LB is the way to draft in the first! ;)

Can I drive?

~most optimistic...... :D

I don't need shotgun.
I don't need to drive.
Just put me on a bench in the back, with the cooler full of Bud at my feet.

01-11-2001, 03:40 PM
I'll be the one in back drinking straight from the tap.
Who's drivin' this dern thang anyways?!?!?

Looks like if you're gonna let me and redhed ride, we're gonna need to drive the bandwagon through areas with liberal open container laws.

01-11-2001, 03:49 PM
Slap me silly and call me Susan. I am holding on to the bottom of the car (like I was all last season) and riding this one out too. I can't help it... I think Elvis ROCKS!!!

01-11-2001, 03:54 PM
Since I'll be havin' too much fun hostin, I'll let Cormac have dibs on driving. I like optimistic drivers. Rick, I like loyal men on shotgun, so that's yours too. Phobia will sit right behind you and point out all the Raiduhs and Broncs that need to be blasted. Gaz and HC can debate all they want LB vs. RB, so long as the debate ends on draft day. No gripe'n on this ride. Makes the beer go sour.

Bob Dole would appreciate it if you refrained from drinking directly from the tap.

(Bob Dole prefers using one of those empty one gallon salad dressing containers.)

I'll just hold it 6in over my mouth and let it fly!

that sounds kinda weird...

I'll bring the bratwurst. We can grill on the engine block. Damn, beer and brats, it just doesn't get any better than this.

I guess I'll remain in the dining car, as usual. Is there room for a developmental rookie quarterback and Travis Henry on here?

01-11-2001, 04:39 PM
CRAP! Rick Stephens got shotgun. Considering he's got a year on me, I'll settle for a window seat.
I expect we'll find Gaz in a hot tub full of Tequila Rose somewhere near the back.

Sorry Warrior, but I can handle the shotgun real well. I was invited to try out for the U.S. Shooting Team in 1972 and you point them out I can hit them. I don't see this Bandwagon crashin' like that blue and gold one from up the road!

As everyone knows, I feel that this whole ordeal was a bad move.

Having said that, I will now fully support Vermiel as the HC of the Chiefs. I loved Gun, but if he becomes a bronco, I will officialy hate him. Up with the Chiefs, to hell with everyone else!

Time to move on to the draft!

01-11-2001, 07:12 PM
Save a spot for me. I am not picky as long as it is a short distance to the beer and the restroom, and a long way from Gaz in that hot tub.

Don't want to see Gaz in anything less than full clothing.

Although I feel this is an improvement of what we had,I will wait to see the results! Been rid'n this "bandwagon" since 1965...I want results ASAP! My seat has been the same since 1965...I ride on top of the bus! Save room for the cheerleaders! :D

01-11-2001, 10:28 PM
Sadly I was on this bandwagon beginning after the San Diego game. My heart was not with Gun and his stooges. While I will never leave my Chiefs, I found this bandwagon and have been sitting on it since November, periodically peeking at what the CHIEFS were doing. While the bus had no name at that time, some people laughed at me and told me I wasn't a "real" fan because I wasn't backing our coach at the time.

Well now the bus has a name and a purpose and I can't wait to enjoy the ride with the rest of my brethren.

By the way, can I bring some hard stuff? Never been a big beer fan.

OH yea, I think we are in for the ride of our lives. I am soooooooooo looking forward to next season.

Anyone else think off season is gonna be way too long?

01-11-2001, 10:54 PM
Pam - It should be more exciting then last one, at least.

01-11-2001, 11:24 PM
Bishop - climb up from down there and join the rest of us!

Senator - Welcome aboard! Liz is welcome too!

4 Ever - lots of German mustard on my Brat, PLEASE!

Pitt - I'm a big T. Henry fan, and don't mind a young QB holding the clip board.

Warrior - You can have shot gun on the ride back from the Super Bowl.

Gonzo - YES! That the right 'tude! Who cares about the past, the future is now!!!!! Go Carl! Go Vermiel! Go Grbac!

Bricky - Good criteria for seat selection, I have a guess it will be pretty crowded where you hang out.

Roy and DJ -- Holding 2 degrees from MIZZOU, I'm really stretching my self letting two JAYHAWKS ride, but in the spirit of a fresh start and unity behind the Chiefs, I'll let this major character flaw slide. After all, Gaz is back there naked in his bubble bath. And yeah DJ, go ahead and bring any legal substance you want. This here's a PARTY!

Pam and Morph: you're right about the wild ride, so hold on tight!

Great, I'll keep the bar stocked and bring along the Bartender's Bible!!

01-12-2001, 06:28 AM
Save room for me. :D

01-12-2001, 07:15 AM
Save me a spot on one of the running boards. I'll stay on it as long as the ride is smooth.

I will however be jumping off before it turns into a huge fire ball when it dumps into the ditch.

(No pessimism here)

01-12-2001, 12:12 PM
Been on this ride since the late 70's. It's been more of a roller coaster though.

Bringing along a few things.:D
