I'll be honest. I've thought about it. I considered making an outlandish prediction, but decided against it.

Does he have a shot?

Heck yeah he's going to break it

The Rams run defense is bad, but its not historically bad.

JBucc

0% because we're going to pass every play and Huard is going to have 800+ passing yards.

They arent that bad. He will have about 130 or so yards i think.

Hog Rider

He'll break it easily.

(by the way I don't have a clue of what record you speak)

If LT was more than 100 yards shy of it last week, no reason to think LJ will come close to it this week.

I don't know about the Rams, but I'd love to see LJ against the Colts with the way their run D has been playing. They can't stop runs up the middle to save their lives.

He won't come close to the record, but I'll take the over on that 130 yards.

The Rams are ranked 27th against the rush, averaging 135 yards allowed per game.

39 carries the week before?

Sorry, no way. In fact, I about half expect him to have a bad game. Not only did he run it a lot last week, it was a lot of pounding runs.

I could almost go for 200 TOTAL rushing yards for our two backs, but no way does LJ get 200. They'll put Bennett in to give LJ a break fairly often after last week, I'd bet.

ChiefFan31

I dont see it happening. If he does he 130+ yds and 2TD's then we have a good shot of winning the game.

Hmmm, that reminds me. I wonder if Sampson or Turley will be at RT tomorrow...

I am not statboy, what is the record?

I am way more interested in Tony G. getting his record breaking touchdown. The two point conversion was pretty, but he's been politely holding at the tied for first position for weeks now.

edit: but both would be a pretty good game if I can be greedy.

295 I think.

Jamal Lewis, 295 yards against the Browns in '03.

I think it's around 211 or so. I'd tell you the exact number, but they haven't updated their records file (http://www.kcchiefs.com/records/) since last year.

Dammit Carl!!! :cuss:

Oh, are we actually talking NFL record? I was thinking Chiefs record. If so, that's just plain ridiculous.

LJ already owns the Chiefs single-game record.

That doesn't mean he can't break his own record.

I assumed since he didn't specify Chiefs record, he was talking about the league record.

I'd say zero percent. Solari's going to bust out the QB option offense. Huard is going to pass for 400 and run for 200, 6 TD's.

This thread is insane.

We should be happy to settle for a win.

Here's the deal.

LJ COULD break the record, but if he did we almost wouldn't win the game.

The team would have to be completely focused on getting that record. The whole offensive scheme would have to be centered on it and it alone, and the defense would have to force tons of 3-and-outs.

It could happen, with a runner this good and a run defense that bad. But we'd have to focus on it, and ignore everything else, including the actual game.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Lewis only had 30 carries when he broke it.

There's no way in hell we'd lose if Johnson rushed for 300 yards. You kiddin' me?

Time of possession and/or points scored would be far too much for the Rams to match.

Bulger would have to reply with the NFL record for passing yards.

Lewis also had two 80 yard runs when he broke it. The odds of this happening are probably about 200/1.

The fact that you had to talk yourself down from predicting he will run for 280 yards speaks volumes.

I'm more concerned with things like:

- Will I65 get Huard killed this week?
- Will we get torched on 3 and long every effing time this week because Gunther does something stupid?
- How many times will we shoot ourselves in the foot?

LJ and TG will get THEIR job done. That is one of the things I DON'T worry about.

Basileus777
11-05-2006, 12:08 AM
The Rams will get a quick lead and force us to throw the ball. Huard will throw for 555 yards and set the single game passing yardage record. And we will lose 77-70.

Thats just as likely as LJ rushing for 296.

If we expect to make any type of playoff push, we win this game.

This is what I have been saying.

If we're legit, it starts here.

7-3 needing 3/4 wins from Denver/Baltimore/Jacksonville (home) and Cleveland/San Diego/Oakland (road) is a good position to be in.

It's doable. I could see him busting off a couple of 50-yard runs.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that if he gets 300 yards, we're gonna hang on and win.
