....but Arkansas is actually decent again in football. Putting it to SC on the road. Not a big deal, but any SEC win on the road is a big deal, especially if you're accustomed (and expecting) the team to fall on their face any day now.

You know, I never thought you'd make this post.

It just feels weird. Year after year I have found myself getting semi-excited about Hawg football/basketball. Every year, I end up writing them off about 3 weeks into the season and being the asshole that makes fun of the team's ineptitude for the remainder of the season. This year, I've almost become a believer. Yes, I'm a bandwagon fan... though not really, since I grew up on the Razorbacks and was in school at the UofA when we won the national championship in b-ball.

Nope, you are correct about the U of A. They used to be hell on wheels when Broyles and Holtz were coaching. Since then they haven't done much. After they got pasted by USC earlier this season I wrote them off. Where is that QB from Springdale?

That was last year. I can't remember what the exact joke headline was, but Robert Johnson was the other QB. It was something like "Nutt pulls Johnson for Dick against Cocks."

Between him/Mcfadden/Mustain, if not this year, you've got national championship team.

I have a question about Arkansas, a big deal was made about Chirs Mortensen's son going there as a QB - is he even playing, 2 years later?

Bod Dole has said alot about them also. Apparently though, they couldn't keep the biggest QB recruit home though, I can inderstand how hard that must be, considering

Nope. He transferred somewhere else. I can't even remember where, now. Sucks, too. Chris Moretensen moved to Bella Vista. Had a very nice house on a lake there. He just never got into the game plan. We had Matt Jones. After Matt Jones, we had Casey Dick/Robert Johnson fighting for the spot, with Alex eventually looking to, perhaps, take over. Then we landed Mitch Mustain (#1 highschool QB recruit of 2006 graduating class) and his head coach Gus Malzahn as the new UofA OC, and Alex saw the writing on the wall. He had been holding out hoping he was the future, but the signing of Mustain killed his chances to ever make a name for himself here.

No shit. I said earlier in the thread "stop the man bullshit", and the next play they did and we get the pick. I just talked to one of my boys on the phone, and we were talking about the same thing. Herring didn't adjust to the QB change. What amazes me is that DCs in the NFL have the same freaking problem.

Yeah, he'd be a dark horse. If the team continues to perform at the level they are at now, and they land a big bowl, it's possible. It would be at least cool to see him as a candidate in the running. With AP out, that opens the field up a little more. Especially since Mcfadden and AP remind me of each other quite a bit.
