Forgive me if this is a re-post.
No wonder that Burger King on TV is so psychotic...
Although no doubt some planeteers will REQUEST this on their next Whopper...

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (AP) -- Two police officers sued Burger King Corp., claiming they were served hamburgers that had been sprinkled with marijuana.

The lawsuit says Mark Landavazo and Henry Gabaldon, officers for the Isleta Pueblo tribal police, were in uniform and riding in a marked patrol car when they bought meals at the drive-through lane October 8 of a Burger King restaurant in Los Lunas, New Mexico.

The officers ate about half of their burgers before discovering marijuana on the meat, the lawsuit said. They used a field test kit to confirm the substance was pot, then went to a hospital for medical evaluations.

"It gives a whole new meaning to the word 'Whopper,"' the officers' attorney, Sam Bregman, said Monday.

"The idea that these hoodlums would put marijuana into a hamburger and therefore attempt to impair law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs is outrageous."

Three Burger King employees were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and aggravated battery on an officer, a felony. They later were indicted.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in Bernalillo County, alleges personal injury, negligence, battery and violation of fair practices. It seeks unspecified damages along with legal costs.

Officials at Miami-based Burger King declined to comment, citing a company policy against discussing pending litigation.

Cop or no, fast food is a dicey & scary proposition. 80% of the folks working in them could give a rats ass about anything outside of of gettin' bent after work. I always get a good chuckle when i go into a fast food bathroom & see the "Wash Hands Before Returning To Work" signs...........i'm sure THATS strictly adhered to

Good rule for life for all of you marijuana-using slackers out there. Don't get caught doctoring the food of people who are allowed to handcuff you, strip-search you, and put you into a locked room with brutish sex-assault people.

luv

Maybe the officers could use a few more of these burgers to chill out a bit...lol.

Considering that THC cannot be absorbed simply by ingestion, I smell BS.

You can't just eat pot and get high.... it has to be broken down by being slowly cooked with a fat soluble base like butter.

...then went to a hospital for medical evaluations...

Jeez, it was only a little weed...did they really need a medical evaluation?!?!

Where does it say they were high? it just says they noticed it on the meat.

ya I'm smelling BS on this. I bet that the cops were gonna have some drug test or something and so they came up with this. I mean, a kid that works at BK probably wouldn't want to waste their weed by putting it on a cops burger. It makes no sense! those kids don't make a lot of money and they're gonna just throw away their weed? I doubt it

The cops say the BK idiots were trying to impair the officers, and they charged them for aggravated battery for it.

I'm saying there is no way the officers could be impaired. And they are charging them with aggravated battery when it in fact it would cause no effects whatsoever.... well other than green turd sprinkles.... so how can they prove aggravated battery?

Like previously stated, why would someone waste their weed to put on people's burgers? Why would these characters even have weed on them at work, leave that shit in the car dumbass. And also like previously stated, those piggies had a drug test coming up, and knew they were going to fail and didnt want to cough up the dough for a Whizzinator.

Why do these lawyers get in these situations and make stupid "clever" comments like this? Did you stay up all night thinking of that one Sam?

I don't think they really need a good reason to charge them with anything.

everything you do is like 5 crimes

a DUI is also: wreckless endangerment, attempted manslaughter, etc, etc, etc

Seeing how close they live to Mexico, I would imagine cheap weed isn't that hard to come by. As to the comment about why they would have it at work, a walk in deep freeze isn't too bad of a spot to take a smoke break.

You probably can, our laws are messed up, just asking.

I read that and my first thought was, "I know who graduated last in that law class." It wasn't even close to clever.
