will MU be the suprise of the Big XII? Great record so far this season. They have played some great teams very close. The Jayhawks visit Columbia on the 29th . . . will be a showdown indeed.

Will Baylor also be a conference team to watch?
Missouri 3 0 1.000 12 3 .800
Kansas 2 0 1.000 13 1 .929
Baylor 2 1 .667 13 1 .929
Texas 2 1 .667 12 3 .800
Oklahoma State 2 1 .667 10 3 .769
Nebraska 1 1 .500 8 7 .533
Iowa State 1 2 .333 13 3 .813
Oklahoma 1 2 .333 12 3 .800
Colorado 1 2 .333 11 5 .688
Kansas State 1 2 .333 7 7 .500
Texas Tech 1 2 .333 7 7 .500
Texas A&M 0 3 .000 6 9 .400

Disclaimer: I'm a Jayhawks Fan . . . deal wit' it

Snyder has definitely got the Tiggers playing tough ball. They will be a force come tourney time. As for in the conference I see a two team race between my Jayhawks and MU. We will probably earn a split with them, each team winning it's home game. Iowa State has proven that without Marcus Fizer to pass to on every offensive possession, it is a lot harder to compete for 40 minutes every night. Baylor in my opinion will poop out once they start playing the big boys. I know they had a fairly close one with K-State yesterday, but other than that I really have not paid much attention to them. My bet is on OU or Texas to emerge as the south champ come tournament week.

As for KU I was not confident of a victory yesterday in Norman. This game looked too much like the Wake Forest game going in, but Boschee stepped up and shot the 3 like he has in the past and Gregory seems to be coming along with his foot problem.

Sorry about the bad news here, Tiger fans. Our local boy here is in some bigtime trouble.

Robert Whaley, one of the top big men in the country, was charged with raping a 13 year old girl.

Hope this works.

Jayhawks are still the team to beat.....A good home team would have won without 4 overtimes!...Had to throw that at the TIGGER fans!:D

Naw...MU has a good team, but not good enought to win the BIG 12! Probally 2nd best in conf.....but the more I think about it....unless the wheels fall off the Hawks wagon....2nd-6th will will be a dogfight!

I'll keep you up to date on further developments. Sounds like a case of he said/she said.

If Whaley is guilty, the Tigers should drop him like a hot potato.

Even if he isn't guilty, what the he!! is he doing with a 13 y/o girl? It shows that his intelligence stops at the beltline!!!

I think you're forgetting that ISU swept KU last year and has won 3 in a row overall against KU.

I see that "last year" in there and find it hard to believe that this years games have already been played?

Like I said, the Jayhawks should be the team to beat...then again I said that last year too! Will be a close race again,But I feel that getting a better start on road wins this year will make a difference for the HAWKS!

If MU's 4 Frosh grow up fast, look out Big 12! Because MU is so young, it'll be hard for them to play with consistency. They are doing great now, but we'll have to wait&see about the rest of the schedule. MU is good, but might be about one year early to be makin' any kind of big noise. Four overtimes will make ya grow up in a hurry though.
Whaley won't be going to MU. The guy was already considered a loose end.

ISU beat KU(and MU) twice last season and ISU beat KU on the final weekend of the the 98-99 season. I know they haven't played yet this season, I was just pointing out that beating ISU is no small feat. Props to KU for beating OU in Norman.

I just saw the end of the ISU game...looked like a heck of a game...BTW, I lost our bet, but we never agreed what I had to do...I'm ready to be sentenced your honor....say it, and i'll post it.

We pay our bets in Iowania.:)

I agree...Mu is very young and very good to boot!Agree that they are a 1 or 2 awat from Top 5 potential...there future is is ahead of them and will only get better! Possible to jell late this year as a Top 10 team ,most likely next year!

Have I said that I don't like any team in the Big 12 except KU! (Come Tourney time, will root for the Big 12 teams till they play KU)

I got busy at work on Friday and forgot to come up with something. I was thinking something along the lines of "I'm a twisted Iowa backwoods redneck who likes to make out with his sister while rooting on the Hawkeyes", but I know you're more of a Hawkeye fan than a Cyclone so you don't have to post any humiliating threads. I'm happy enough with the victory.

01-15-2001, 09:08 AM

I need to do something...I dont' want to be an "indian-giver"..you paid your humiliation debt...maybe I can just do something like this.

Missouri beat the pink pany wearing cylcones because Mizzou is so handsome, and I am very not-attractive..Mizzou knows basketball and I am BB knowledge impotent, and should stay on the poarch....

Next time, we'll figure it out before hand..umkay...
