I think I'll go put some coffee on for this one. Yaaaawwwwn.

I predict that Baltimore wins 7-0 on an interception return touchdown.

If the Ravens win, I don't care how they do it.
To borrow from Nike; Just do it!

Anyone see that high class pic with a Raider player throwing the nice little upper cut, lucky he wasn't caught otherwise he would have been ejected.

I'm stuck at work doing OS upgrades. Anyone know, by any chance, if this game is being broadcated over the internet anywhere.

I checked NFL.COM and they don't have it.

TOUCHDOWN SHARPE!!!!!

Sharpe just blew my theory all to hell. What a play!

This is likely all the points the Ravens need...

Frazod
01-14-2001, 02:51 PM
I hear you, Morph. Just try not to think about it too much.

milkman

Sorry Morph,
I'm a Sharpe fan today. Go Shannon!!
I'll go back to hating him as soon as this game is over!!!!

I just had a horrible thought - Dilfer v. Collins in the Super Bowl?

Good chance it'll happen - especially since Rich just got crushed.

I wonder what the odds of this would have been in Vegas at the start of the season?

morphius

Milkman - Yeah, I was hooting for him to take it all the way, it just hurts.

morphius

Any bets that someone is looking for Vermeil's KC supply of kleenex after Gannon went down?

Otter

How bad is Gannon hurt?

Hi fraz, milk, otter & morph!

the Giants HC, Fosell(sp) is it?
he deserves the Gatorade
could any team have played the Vikes better?
the Giants Coach is commited to the win, his players are commited to him . . . that makes for passionate football.

Oh, and I hope the Ravens win also . . . Their coach is commited too . . . Gruden needs to be commited.

Frazod

Well, he's back on the sideline, and I assume he'll come back in. Rich is pretty tough.

I doubt if he'll survive the next crushing hit, though. The Ravens are merciless.

Hey, CRP. What's your take on this?

morphius
01-14-2001, 03:28 PM
CRP - The giants played them perfect, almost flawless. They had the prefect game plan and executed it completely.

I'm enjoying the Raiders getting stuffed in this second game, lets see if Gannon flopped on his first chance to get the big game.

My take,
The Giants, this season, looked like the Chiefs of the Marty era that won homefield for the playoffs. Control the ball, don't make mistakes, play tough defense.
But their performance in this game is a testament to good preparation, play calling, and playing the playoffs to win, rather than the Marty philosophy of playing to not lose.
Outstanding coaching can take a team much farther than anyone should expect from this Giants team.

I was wondering what everyone thought of the Raiders game. Should have been more specific.

My take on this Raider game.
The Ravens defense, as I expected, is shutting the TRaiders ground game down. They're not going to let the Traiders beat them with the short passing game. They essentially are daring the TRaiders beat them deep, and the TRaiders can't do it.

morphius
01-14-2001, 03:47 PM
Fraz - It just shows that a dink and dunk does not work that well against the best D in the NFL, you have to be able to stretch them long.

Frazod
01-14-2001, 03:52 PM
I agree, Morph. If the Raiders come away with more than 3 I'll be amazed.

I didn't type fast enough. No amazement. Oakland is DONE, IMO. I don't look for the Ravens to make anymore mistakes on O.

morphius

Gannon had his man for a TD, a RB out of the backfield and throws behind him and has to settle for a FG, too bad...

Frazod
01-14-2001, 03:56 PM
Try not to get all teary-eyed over it...

morphius

Nice job calling the PI when Rison was pushing the guy away. Oh well.

morphius
01-14-2001, 04:14 PM
Of course watching the Raider fans sitting on their hands and Gannon throwing 5 yards when they need 15 is more then worth the price of admission.

Frazod

Another interception... Denise must be bursting blood vessels by now!

morphius
01-14-2001, 04:31 PM
And now a fumble on the 5 yard line, it is pretty close to him losing the game.

Gannon stripped!!!

Sweet.

Ritchie looked good on the fumble.

I hate the Raiders!!

Frazod
01-14-2001, 04:33 PM
I'd say this one's pretty much over...

Ravens v. Giants. Should be a good SB.

Frazod
01-14-2001, 04:36 PM
That personal foul was classic Raiders. I guess they're getting back to their roots!

I think Chucky will be bursting some blood vessels, too.

morphius

80 yards passing in a playoff game by Gannon, with 2 INTs, 1 fumble and NO TD'S and 2 yards rushing.

Good stuff, but at least he is man enough to take himslef out of the game after he has guarnteed his teams loss.

Frazod
01-14-2001, 04:50 PM
Good overturn by the ref. Kirby was definitely down.

I doubt seriously if the Raiders can punch it in, though.

morphius
01-14-2001, 04:53 PM
Fraz - I agree on the overturn, liked Rison dropping the ball on the goal line and then pushing off, damn classic.

Frazod
01-14-2001, 04:54 PM
Brock screws the Raiders out of a TD! I love it!

INT! Stick a fork in the Faiders, THEY'RE DONE.

morphius
01-14-2001, 04:57 PM
Rison looked a little mad sitting on the sideline. LMAO!

First the Vermeil signing and now the raiders roll over easier than a $2....You get the picture.

A great way to start the year for Chief fans.
