IMO, playing him at Wr as much as they do has hurt his return game.

Until the next time he runs one back for a TD.

Need to draft or sign a WR to play the #2 WR and make Sammie Parker a #3 WR. Dante should just concentrate on returns. And he should think about just hitting the damn hole instead of dancing around all the time. WTF is doing lately? :banghead:

Until the next time he runs one back for a TD.All the stupid sh1t he does lately will override that. Plus i don;t see him running one back anytime soon. You have to run forwards to do that.

What about the return in the 9er game? Looked pretty good to me.

I agree though. I wish he would just try to get upfield and get field position. The TD's will come if they are there, but consistently getting us beyond the 30-35 yard line is way more valuable than 1 or 2 TD's in a season.

It is time for Carl and Herm to take a long hard look at the situation. If he can't return kicks, he serves little purpose on this team.

Our special teams have been pretty god awful for awhile now in general........but it doesn't help that he seems to fumble/do something really stupid, in every game now.

Also it was a real pleasure to watch him explode on Michael Bennett yesterday......Dante has an ego and believes his hype, it's pretty obvious.

Well, if he would just run forward he would make all three of those guys that are coming at him unblocked miss him.

That being said, he does need to step it up a notch and remember that sometimes it is OK to just take what is there.

Exactly, I think his ego is out of control. His head is in the stars.

It is better to hit it up the middle quickly than to dance around and lose yards or fumble. Sry dude. I love what Dante has done for this team over the years. But there is no question in my mind that he's not doing the team much good with his play on returns as of late.

He is only averaging 21.9 yards on kick return with no TD's. Is on pace for a 33% drop-off over last year.

He is averaging 10 yards on PR with 1 TD. This is better than he has done the past few seasons.

the fumbles bother me the most. There's no excuse for losing the ball as frequently as he has this year.

I've tried to stand up for him but my patience is wearing thin.

He is to small to do what he is doing. One of his receptions was a perfect example yesterday. He could have gone upfield and had 5-10 more yards but starts to dance trying to avoid getting hit and steps out of bounds trying to make his cut.

Well, the first half, the humans tried valiantly, but the deer were able to elude. By the second half, the humans were totally shut out and dominated. Disappointing effort by the humans. Hopefully next weekend they'll bounce back...

Bennett missed a block on a kick return....not suprising seeing as for a long time he was a returner and not a blocker...

Dante basically went apeshit on him on the field and started screaming at him and throwing a fit.

Dante is done. When he gets the ball he just hesitates and dances around which allows defenders to track him down and murder him. He does it in his return game as well as his recieving game. What every happened to running straight down the damn field through a hole? IMO put Jeff Webb in for kick returns and put Dante at reciever to be an elusive option.

we got luck and recovered so .....

Hes a victim of his own sucess. Hes done such great things the past 3 or 4 years i think everyone sort of got conditioned to the fact he was going to return one all the time.

Hes basically just come back down to earth. He will be fine...

I think Dante is done without Dick to help keep his head on straight. Dante has always had issues, even back in College.

He will be in Arizona next year when Vermeil gets hired to revitalize that franchise.

I hate to use the word "Brain Fart" it sounds kind of childish and overly used. But it happens to be the perfect description for at least 50% of his decisions.

Webb would get my vote.

Dante is still lethal in the open field when he's on offense. Those quick darts to the middle when he has a receiver or two blocking upfield for him are where he's extremely talented.

But I do think he needs to wisen up on his kick returns extremely soon or else. Webb's a good returner, which I like over a chancey returner.

True, but imagine what DV with a Saunders or Mike Martz could do with a trio of Leinert, Fitzgerald and Boldin.....

That team has some great players, they just need a coach there what knows what hes doing.
