As some of you may know I work at a country club here in Springfield while I am getting my photography career off the ground. It was just another day like any other...doing the food and drink thing...laughing with my coworkers...trying to give people a good experience...

There was a family of 6 there tonight. 2 Grandparents 2 younger parents and 2 grandkids. They were so good to me. As someone who works in any food service situation...esp one at a country club, you really come to appreciate that. They were all telling stories and laughing and having a good dinner.

I was upstairs at the time they left and as I opened the door for them he clutched his chest...in lots of pain. He was having a heart attack...he was on the ground now...I ran down to the defibrillator (sp?) machine we have...as I grabbed it a really loud alarm sounded running back upstairs...I was looking at the whole thing and trying to get it going...my boss was more familiar so he took over. He also said he didn't want it on my shoulders if it didn't go right...he tried...but in the end he died...family there...hysterical...

I just don't understand how that happens I guess...just like that. I bet that guy could have told me stories about his life...given great advice for days on end...and he is just gone.

Makes you want to spend time with people you love.

The guy was older...so you have to think he lived a long good life...the thing that shook me was the family...thats just...tough.

And of course it wasn't the total dickhead...it was one of the few people who go out of their way to be kind to others. Jeez.

They were so shocked...it took a little bit to realize the situation...a few seconds past and one of my coworkers...a girl actually took them for a bit...the mom helped. So that was good...it was also away from everyone else.

That is sad and watching someone die right in front of you is always a tough thing.

About 4 years ago me and some friends were swimming at the beach at Truman State Park on a Sunday and there was tons of people there. Anyway an african-american male and his girlfriend went swimming out in the middle and after about 15 minutes you could tell something was wrong so me and a couple of guys swam out there and she was screaming for someone to help her. The problem was there was alot of people and I don't think anyone could hear her so we drag him onto the beach but there was no hope. There was 3 nurses swimming but they couldn't bring the guy back and the time the paramedics came he was dead. They tried for about 15 minutes as hard they could but it wasn't meant to be.

The weird thing was watching 200+ people stand around with their kids watching this guy die.

This really doesn't mean much coming from the lowest skilled worker at the country club. I'm happy to see you are working at your highest capacity. You're just where you should be, a minimum wage worker. BTA, as I've often pointed out, you aren't smart enough for anything else. The average fifth grader has better writing skills.

I don't know what your interest in this is but I I tell potential clients what my price is and what they can expect for that price. #2, If you are vice president in charge of shoveling shit I would say yes. And since you don't say what company you work for I just assume you aren't very proud of it. The title vice president in and of itself doesn't say shit. It can be just a title your daddy gave you to keep you out of the way which I strongly suspect in this case. OTOH, if you are the vice president of General Motors I might be impressed. Im glad he had a great dinner with his family, and that they were treated by a nice server who was cordial and helped make their dinner a better experience.

Seeing someone die right there is tough... sorry you had to go through that, but there is a lesson in there somewhere.

Also, Skip is just jealous, cuz he hopes to die in your arms... he may have missed his chance.
You little bitch, you know I would never cheat on you. But I must insist you stop telling people my dick is salty.

Not to interrupt or anything, but has anyone seen MI3? I didn't go to the theater to see it because I was boycotting Zorgon or whatever the guy's name is that sucked out the souls and threw them down that volcano, so I rented it instead. Anyway, I was just wondering if the redheaded brit that played the nerdie guy who helped TC find his way to the place where his wife was being held was the Shaun of the Dead guy.

Anybody know?

I don't know what your interest in this is but I I tell potential clients what my price is and what they can expect for that price. #2, If you are vice president in charge of shoveling shit I would say yes. And since you don't say what company you work for I just assume you aren't very proud of it. The title vice president in and of itself doesn't say shit. It can be just a title your daddy gave you to keep you out of the way which I strongly suspect in this case. OTOH, if you are the vice president of General Motors I might be impressed. Did you just jump in here to argue because if so, I have no interest in continuing this conversatrion.

1. I am just flipping you crap.... That is really my only intrest in this converstation, but you seem to have sand in the vagina syndrom. I find it funny that you pick on others yet when someone gives you crap you have no intrest in continuing the conversation. To each there own.

2. As for my company, we are campaign consultants we primarly focus on capital campain fundraising for non-profits organisations. I.E building campaings, but also do feasibility studies, and company needs assesment.

Nice try but unlike you I don't have to try and belittle others to make myself feel good. I have worked hard to get where I am in business. Life is good- I have a wonderful family with a great wife and 2 beautiful kids. And that my friend is what life is all about to me. Now if you wish to discuss this further fine if not ok. But please stop with the I am holier than thou crap....this styck is getting old. I am not sure what has brought this on but the last year or so it has really gotten appalling.

This job has been great to me...about 500\week and great networking opportunities with all the members. For my expenses it is pretty much perfect...

$500 a week? That's more than I made at my last church in my early 30s. Skip probably thinks I'm a real loser then. I wonder how much he was pulling in a week when he was 22.

As for the dude, sorry to hear you had to go through it. About the only thing worse than going home with the pain from a situation like that is when those situations quit causing you pain.

I'm teaching 3 college courses this year while also getting my MA....the grand total of my stipend: $8120. However, they are paying for my $20,000+ tuition and fees, so that's nice. But in reality I take home less than 400 bucks every two weeks. I worked in an office during the semester that I had off before I started grad school. Made 10 bucks an hour, but got taxed at a 40% rate because I was "independently contracted". I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the best public institution in the state. But I had to take shit from trolls and underlings who had a hard time making it through high school because it was just a transitional job for me. Not only was I overqualified for their job, I was overqualified for their boss's boss's job. Yet the shit still rolled onto me. Scan these documents for 40 hours a week. Copy and past them from computer screen A to screen B. Thank you, idiot lackey. It's incredibly embittering to be treated like you are dumb when you are smarter than everyone else you work with.......when I worked my PT job in undergrad, people always looked at me with contempt because they assumed that was my career. In reality, it was just a job to pay the rent.

The point of the story is that just because someone is working a shit job, they are not always a loser. A lot of times they are a hell of a lot smarter than you, or anyone else you know. Like me ;)

A story with a moral? Wow. :p

Life circumstances can definitely play a big role in your direction in life. I can look back over the past 12 years, since I graduated high school, and see just how every decision I made has affected my life. It's kind of eerie.

Let's say you are General Manager of a Wal Mart. Knowing that you are most likely the ass kissing corporate type, you probably assume that all of your underlings are there because of the Peter Principle. Therefore, those cashiers must really be dumbasses. Therefore, you talk to them as though they were such, even though it is highly possible that some of them could be far more intelligent than you.

Why would you be "embittered" in such a scenario? Don't sweat the fools. They are far too many on the world to waste energy (particularly anger) on. For amusement? Sure. But feeling bitter about them?

The thought of having kids scares me to death. I do want to have at least one, though. Someone to love and care for. To nurture and teach. But still, the thought of how my decisions directly affect my life is one thing. I dare to even consider how they might affect someone else's.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule of hating yourself and being alone to make this post. I appreciate your input. Is that vagina still sandy over those mean mods taking away your rep. Poor little Skippy...crying about rep...

(Zach) you have to understand where Skip's hatred is coming from. Imagine this...growing up, all your life looking forward to having a successful life when you get older, having a loving wife, a bunch of kids, a wonderful house, endless amounts of money and no problems to think about....imagine going through the younger years dreaming of the future and then one fateful day meeting your true love. You get married to this true love and move to the Ozarks, so far fulfilling some parts of your dream from long ago. Days turn into months, followed by years.

You think you are set for life...then hell breaks loose when you find out that your wife after 20 years wants a divorce because she wants to bang some guy in his 20's...then she runs off with him, while Skip...is stuck in his camper that is parked alongside a hedgerow and a sign out front that says "Year round garage sale."

You'd feel some resentment too, especially when this poor old broken shell of a man sits in his loathing self pity, staring blankly into a mirror which reminds him of all his failures. The only joy or happiness he receives is from posting on this forum and even that will end when the Alzheimers kicks in soon enough....

I dealt with life and death on a daily basis for 9 years. Of the people that I worked on trying to save I had people die on me an average of 5 times per week. I maybe saved one per week. You work for hours, weeks , months trying to save someone and they die and you have to see the pain caused by that loss to the family.

You learn to block it out. Tell yourself you did everything you could. It's not your fault he smoked for 30 years, She crashed her car, got cancer etc. But you have to still care enough to get in there and try to save them.

I will always remember those really bad days that I didn't save someone but then again I ran into a patient the other day at the ball park and he was with his kids watching them play baseball and he thanked me and hugged me for saving his life to give him a chance to see his kids grow up. That makes the memory of the ones I lost a little bit more bearable.
