With Lee, Ramirez and now Soriano they have some pop for sure in that lineup.

Now if they can just get some pitching.......

The Cubs are now even more of a lock to lead the league in solo home runs.

Derek Lee is going to hit so many times with no runners on, it isn't even funny.

That contract is worse than Beltran's....Beltrans + 1 year...that's insane.

And the good news is they still will suck. All of their stud young pitchers will go down with ingrown toe nails caused by the devasting wind from the windy city and be on the DL the whole year, like always.

I wish the Cubs would not of gotten Soriano because I like Alphonso. He's that fast skinny guy who jacks homers and can't play defense. Gotta respect that

only 6 years 90 million guaranteed...

the other 2 years and 46 million are kickers/incentives/blah blah blah

well, all contracts are going up every year...that's for sure...

but the contract is deceiving...as I just posted, only 6 years/90 million guaranteed.

Now they just need tp sign Barry Zito and JD Drew, and I'll have a little hope!

Beltran's deal isn't that terrible. Soriano's deal ends when he is 38.

Beltran's ends when he's 34.

The Cubs are so stupid. If they are putting Soriano in CF, what does that say about Felix Pie?

Alot of the Cubs prospects don't turn out......friend of mine is a fan of theirs and told me a long time ago Pie isn't nearly as good as they'd have you believe he is, and virtually every Cubs prospect is massivly overrated because they have no clue how to rate their guys.

So, apparently Frank Catalanotto got a three-year deal and the Dodgers have signed Juan Pierre for five years at $9 mil a year.

This is hilarious and mortifying.

Free agency is out of control. Albie Lopez could get 4 years, $36 million out of this FA market.

I can't breathe.

An excerpt:

> go downstairs

You are in a hotel lobby.
Jim Hendry is here.
"I just signed Alfonso Soriano!" Jim Hendry says.

> examine Soriano contract

Alfonso Soriano signed for $136,000,000 over 8 years.

> I hate you and wish you would die.

I don't understand that.

Jim Hendry performs his Dance of Joy.

> punch Hendry

You catch Hendry unaware!
Hendry is wounded!
The other GMs look at you with awe.
Hendry runs away!
Some GMs applaud you.

> bow

How gracious.

Wayne Krivsky signs Alex Gonzalez.

> examine Gonzalez signing

Alex Gonzalez signed for $14,000,000 over 3 years.

> examine Gonzalez signing

No, you read that right.

Pat Gillick asks you how Adrian Beltre is doing.

> remind Gillick of Franklin signing

Pat Gillick looks hurt and leaves.

Not sure why Pierre got so much money. The only thing he did shit was leading the league in hits. That's about it. Pierre's OBP isn't where it should be.

Pierre should change his number from 9 to 43.

"Juan Pierre grounded out 4-3"

Not sure why Pierre got so much money. This just in: Ned Coletti is retarded.

"This man gets on base an awful lot," Colletti said.Wow, he gets a lot of singles! Let's sign him to a $45,000,000 contract! Who cares that his OBP is ghastly!

Half of the GMs in baseball should just go kill themselves.
