This draft has about 7-10 WR's with 1st round talent...Some top notch WR's are going to be snatched up in the 2nd and possibly early 3rd round...SlyMo should develop into a good player but there are 6 or 7 out there this year that I like better.

It's not like we couldn't use another one.

Very true, but with our receiver corp being our strongest area they will have to spend our 1st and 3rd on defense and possibly a RB...

Good point. By the way, which receivers do you like?

I love Reggie Wayne, IMO he is the most ready to play at a high level in the NFL. He has great hands, runs great routes and knows how to get separation...

David Terrell and Koren Robinson have the most physical talent. Quincy Morgan(KSU), Chris Chambers(Wisc), Chad Johnson of Oregon St and Rob Gardner(Clemson) are all right there...I keep hearing really good things about this Alex Bannister from Eastern Kentucky but have not had a chance to see him...I think they are in awe of his size and speed(6'5" 4.5 40)

Freddie Mitchell of UCLA is considered a 1st round talent but I think less of him than most people do. Santana Moss is overated as a WR, will be a real good KR/PR but he is not cut out to be a #1 or #2 receiver...He will need to be in a AZ Hakim type roll as a change of pace #3 guy.

I just hope you guys weren't raving about Dez White and Plaxico Burress last year like a lot of people were too...

Koren friggen Robinson!

Mark my words.... he'll be the best of the bunch.

I don't really know much about those guys with the exception of Morgan. He is much like DA in the fact that he has great after the catch ability, but his hands seem a little shaky at times. Other than that I would love to have him.

Wolf,

I was on the Buress bandwagon last year...Still am for that matter, I knew he was young and raw. Did about as good as he could with Krydell throwing to him...

Alex Bannister was a stud in one of senior games, I think it was east vs. west. I thought he looked like DA.

Why? The Cat led all rookies in receptions this year. I would much rather spend our draft picks elsewhere. Unless they use it to pickup a return specialist. IMO this is almost as big of a need as runnng back.

C'mon Joe, someone had to feed Tony G. Otherwise, you know the Cat woulda had better numbers...

Sorry Joe, I stand corrected! I'm glad there are guys like you out there to keep guys like me in line. The point is I think the Cat did a fair job considering he is on a team with 2 1000 yd receivers.
How did Jackson get that many receptions with your QB situation being what it is? Sounds like you guys got you a sleeper.

Cats number were pretty decent for a rookie but considering he was a starter in a pass only attack that is nothing special...Especially if you look at what he did outside of the 1st SD game...Then the numbers start to look pretty shabby...He was one of the better rookies last year but that rookie crop turned out to be one of the worst classes for WR's in a long time.

This years class might turn out to be better than the Harrison, Moulds, Johnson and Glenn class.

There are some good WR's in the draft, but if we can hang on to Lockett I'm satisfied with our WR corp for now. Our needs now are Dline, LB and RB. I'd love to see Shaun Rodgers patrolling our middle.

Our priority should be finding defensive players to stop the run.

I agree with jl80.

Against San Diego he looked like Randy Moss, against everyone else he looked like an undrafted free agent.

Cat had better get in shape, work on his hands and quickness...

or he will be labeled a bust.

Even the poor corners had him locked up last year.
