I've done alot of research and have seen some awesome sales for "Black Friday." I'm leaning towards a 42" Panasonic plasma for $999. I've seen 42" LCDs for less. Anyone own a plasma or LCD? How do you like it?

I own an RPTV and an LCD. My dad owns plasma, my buddy LCD.

From my limited viewing, anything with rapid motion (ie. football games) is better viewed on a plasma set...

visit Circuit City and Best Buy's website for additional "unadvertised" sales....they have some great prices like a Sony 50" for $1099 and a 42" Samsung projection for $799

That's where I saw the Panasonic for $999. I hope there aren't a million people vying for 5 TVs, but it appears their unadvertised sales are pretty well known.

Which do you feel has the better picture between the RPTV and the LCD? I'm almost in the same boat, and can't decided between the two....

For the 2 things I like most - watching football and playing video games - the RPTV has a slightly better picture. The problem with it is that the convergence and geometry are slightly off. It needs to be calibrated badly, and that costs about $300 for an ISF-certified tech.
