Interesting stuff. One of kind voice. Just bought his box set Orphans and it is some of the most weirdest stuff I ever heard, but I am enjoying every second of it.

I got"Heartattack & Vine" years ago and LOVED it. Nighthawks at the Diner is another great album.

One of the best storytellers in American music history. My sig line is from the "Small Change" album. If you can get his Austin City Limits performance from 1978, please do.

"Nighthawks at the Diner" and "Small Change" are his best.
Did you know he wrote "Old '55" that the Eagles covered?

His nightclub piano period was the best. Some of his newer stuff is pretty far out there...

I had downloaded 'Small Change' before.

I knew about Old '55 from the Eagles- On the Border LP.

Will check 'Nighthawks at the Diner' out.

Thanks

Find a song he sang called "Blue Skies". Beautiful little tune. One of my favorites... Let me know if you can't find it...
