Wow! Tomillison sets the all time TD record w/ 3 games left. Marty has finally changed his ways and is now embracing the play to win mentality.

This would not have happened if not for A.J. Smith, Chargers's GM. The guy's goal is to win and bring SB's to the City. He forced Marty to change his ways. He has a less than pleasant relationship with Marty. He is a real ball buster. Marty will have him to thank if he finally wins a SB and reaches the HOF!

Just like DV when he came back from retirement to become the HC of the Rams and finally win a SB, they both had to change philosophies in order to get over the hump.

DV went to 2 SB's and won one, but was not able to reach the goal in KC. Marty was with 3 different teams before coming to SD, 10 years with the Chiefs with disappointment in the postseason year after year. It was only after AJ Smith became GM after the suddent death of the GM that hired Marty,Butler, that Marty was forced to change and the result is very apparent.

Winning in the NFL is a team sport. Good players and coaches are important, but going all the way entails a quality Front Office that plays an integral part in ensuring they get results from all its participants.

Looking forward to the beginning of a new era for the Chiefs, and the end of the CP era.

I'm not going to give Marty any extra props until they win a Superbowl.

IMO this is the best team he's ever coached. Certainly the most balanced. If he can't get it done with these guys, then he can't get it done ever.

While Marty's team looks good now, he still has not gotten over the hump ....... still time to blow it in the playoffs.

We will see what happens in the playoffs. Until then he hasn't proved crap. Everyone said he was the new Marty a few years ago but he got punked in his own crib by Hermy and the Jets. What would be funny is to see the Chiefs somehow get into the playoffs and past the first round and punk Marty and the Bolts in their own crib. Ain't happening but whould be funny as hell if it did.

Get real, douchebag. You're clueless, as usual.

Besides, you of all people shouldn't be talking about other people crying. You're the biggest attention whore here. Although, I must admit the "Why can't I post?" threads are mildly amusing.

I thought I would share. You have a choice you can try a different channel. There's one for everyone you know. :)

Right.

You don't affect me one way or another.

But you can't resist crying long enough for this current leniency period to last. You'll be right back where you were. You need the attention.

I don't agree. The playoffs are a challenge for any team, but I believe what you will see is a different philosophy from Marty. The outcome is not guaranted, but his odds are more in his favor if he continues to coach in the manner that got him there during the regular season. The evidence is clear he has changed and most of the credit goes to his GM for making him change.

I don't really give a shit what you or Zach attack do with my thread making privileges...that thread was made so I could see what others thought about our very own Hitler...and I was satisfied with its results.

My "incisive analysis" over the last 6 years speaks for itself. I've got nothing to be ashamed of.

But I'm certainly not gonna waste CPU cycles analyzing the San Diego Chargers or their born-choker coach. I'm a CHIEFS fan.

I'm not gonna do anything with your thread-making priveleges. I don't roll that way. You're free to whine about whatever you want to whine about.

As someone whose family survived the Holocaust, I find your reference to Hitler simultaneously laughable and insulting. You have NO IDEA what Hitler was like, but I have no problem surmising that you view the BB precisely that way. This is for entertainment for most of us, but for people like you, it's filling a void in your psyche.

As for being satisfied with the results of your post, I enjoyed reading it. Very insightful. Maybe we could make a similar post about you, of course, we already know what the outcome would be.

Oh take it easy, big guy.

I'm only joking...

I take Chiefs football seriously, as does the majority of this board.

I'll whine about the Chiefs when need be.

But in all honesty, the loss yesterday didn't even hurt all that bad...

Marty did crap in washington. He did the same thing Phil Jackson does in basketball wait for a shaq or a jordan to be on the team.

Marty has not gotten over the hump, yet. Winning in the regular season was never his problem. Ending the regular season with the best record in the NFL was never his problem. Getting his team into the postseason was never his problem. Winning in the postseason - that was his problem, that's his hump!

We'll see what happens in the playoffs. I mean, I agree, the Chargers look great. But we went through this just two years ago... everybody and their dog thought Marty had "changed his ways" in '04 too, with Brees, LT, etc. And he got in the playoffs and it was same 'ol Marty. Maybe it'll be different this time, but he's gonna have to go out and prove it. I'm not drinking the kool aid yet.

I live in SD so I read a lot of the press. Believe me Marty better not go back to his old ways, b/c he will be out. A.J. Smith is a real ball buster and he has Marty on the HOTSEAT. I see him firing Marty 24 hours after they lose the AFC Championship game. If Marty doesn't reach the SB he's out. He may be out if he loses the SB. This GM is the anti-CP. ;)

I only wanted Marty to win when he was here.

Now, I hate every team, coach and cheerleader who isn't a Chief.

Ok, some of the cheerleaders are alright I guess. They can remain alive....for now.

Besides, the better the Chargers do the less they will be able to retain all of those players.

We're not eliminated. Not sure where you got that idea. Record-wise, we're only one game behind the fifth and sixth seeds (we're 8th), and tied with the 7th seed, with a game coming up against one of them.

Marty won his last 4 games to finish 8-8 in Washington. He has won everywhere else he has been. He has 197 career wins which puts him in the top 10 all time winningest coaches. Yeah, he just waits for talent to come to him.

Are you actually arguing with the guy whose argument was Marty is a crappy coach because he's like Phil Jackson?

That may be the worst argument in the history of this board. It needs no rebuttal.

Also considered for argument;

"Marty is a crap coach. He did the same thing Lance Armstrong does in cycling wait for shimano to build him a better bike."

Gonna have to side with you here, BL. The idea that Marty is a "crap" coach is patently false.

As for the "talent" argument, name me ONE Super Bowl-winning coach that won it all WITHOUT talent. That whole argument is BS. Coaches don't win Super Bowls without talented players. However, talented players can often be coached into LOSING.

And that's why I won't defend Marty or root for him now. He's NOT A VICTIM. He brought all of this criticism on himself. Everybody likes to compare him to Vermeil. Well, how many times has Vermeil has the most talented team in his conference? ONCE. And that year, he won it all.

Marty has had the best team in his conference AT LEAST TWICE (1997 Chiefs, Cleveland was it 86?) and it could be argued that he's had it twice more, 1 each with Cleveland and the 1995 Chiefs. And how many conference championships has he won?
