As I stated on another thread...

Everyone under Clark Hunt that doesn't wear a number on their shirt. Then let the new GM and HC decide which of those with numbers on their shirts should stay and which should go.

He still sucks......all his pretty stats and INT's don't make up for all the boneheaded things he's done.

Didn't say that.......it's just time for him to go. He still makes rookie mistakes. Have you seen all the time he's ****ed up this year?

Except for Cleveland, Trent looks like shit this year. He was terrible tonight, a night we desperately needed a win. Do you think he should go as well?

We need to keep Kennison.

He was clutch on that 4th down drop.

wouldnt we take a huge cap hit if green were to retire, or if we were to cut him? He will be on the roster next year if he doesnt retire.

What about trying to make a pass at drew brees next year? Hes got what, a 12 million dollar payout with the saints?

If you don't think we're winning anything in the next 2 years then that should be looked at........look at his age.

i think Croyle will be a fine NFL QB. We need to start out fresh now. Get croyle, page and pollard in there playing for the rest of the season. Keep Green for croyle to benefit off of this offseason. Let croyle know hes going to be herms man for next season. I think we need to start grooming croyle to start next season and we need to do this monday.

No reason to rush Croyle.

No reason to rush Croyle.

If he is so fragile (mentally or physically) that he can't play by the 15th game of the season, he won't ever amount to shit.

Huard is a free agent, and if I'm Trent I'm done. No way am I coming back to play behind that thing that calls itself an offensive line. So why not play Croyle and give him some game experience?

This arguement is moot anyway, Carl and Herm will never play a young QB.

Croyle at bama. Hes got a strong arm and good accuracy.

I think if you put any young QB behind our line with our WR's he'd look like complete dog ass.....there is no one to make a play for the guy out there.

Screw that. Get him some game experience in a season that is shot to hell. It won't matter if he screws up.

you bring up a good point mecca. Croyle is very mobile though. We need to look to the future now. we arnt going anywhere with this current starting roster anytime soon anyways. what do we have to lose?

There's a difference between getting Croyle experience and getting his brains beat in.

LanceHunter

Might as well have 2 really good clip board holders , so Huard can go to Oakland and kill us like Gannon did . They can be a big help to Trent too , and remind him of his glory years . P.S. has anyone told Trent that daddy " V " went to tend the grapes ?

Just maybe bringing in someone like croyle will improve the OL play? I dont remember the OL play being so bad with huard in. The fins game doesnt count because we had bober in instead of waters.

Because there is guarantee the OL will be greatly improved next year when Shields retires? He's supposed to be a football player, not a daisy. Why is it fair to Trent to play behind that crap?

I guess it depends on what you believe.

If you're the type that believes you can't crush a young QBs confidence, then you don't play Croyle.

But I personally don't believe that cr@p. I think guys who are mentally tough enough to make it, do. While the onces who are not, don't.

I'd just like to find out sooner rather than later.

No disrespect against Trent. He's a good QB. But IMO, by the time this team gets better and rebounds, he probably won't be on the roster by then.

We need a total rebuild.

12-17-2006, 10:33 PM
Well, it depends on the QB. I'm personally not a big fan of crushing a young QB's confidence and turning him into David Carr.

That said, the only knock against Croyle is that he's a fragile QB. That's why I don't want him getting killed. I don't know what you learn by doing that... all that'll do is make people want to give up on him.

Croyle would help the line because he doesnt hold on to the ball all that long. Hes a tuff kid to

true Brodie is a bit fragile , but Trent looks like a deer in the headlights . Since the concussion he is one dimensional , doesn't see anything peripherally , has tunnel vision IMHO .

i think we need to start developing young qbs instead of getting other teams crap. and dont forget that croyle played in an nfl style offense with bama. that is a major plus. he played against good defenses and has a very strong arm with a great touch. He does need to bulk up some. Other then that he will be a good one to watch in the future. He would have been a sure first rounder if he could have stayed healthy and if he wouldnt have lost prothro.

Not for nothing...

You take the hit when the player leaves the roster with years remaining on his contract because you have to count the remaining portion of the signing bonus against the cap. So, if you cut him, you take a hit. If he retires, you can actually keep him on the roster and thus not take the salary cap hit.

I tell ya what, Brody has a 1st class arm & looks very mobile. I'm not certain that he should start next year, but the future COULD be very bright with this guy. He needs to be on the crash course in any event.

The line did look bad last night, but IMO they are still better than 2/3 of whats out there. If we can maintain something close to it next year, Brody should be ok & not get the mojo hammered out of him.
