Let's all take a moment and honor this warrior. I'd love nothing more than to see Shields dominate Marcus Stroud, one of the NFL's elite defensive tackles, this Sunday. I hope he plays an inspired game.

Yea.......it's time. He's had a great career but he's noticeably declined, he got his token trip to the Pro Bowl. I don't know if facing Marcus Stroud and John Henderson in your last game is a great way to go out though....

Will Shields has been a Great Chief.

He hasn't been a great lineman this year.

I appreciate all he's done in KC, all he's done as a Chief and the fact that he came back. I assume he's done, and its probably time.

Thanks Will.

He hasnt had a great year cuz hes still pissed about Roaf telling him he would be back and then Roaf retires....what the hell kind of friend is that.

Who cares about injuries or whatever was going on with Roaf...play through the pain....play through the pain.

We've all seen the decline this year, but if I can play Devil's Advocate here:

Do you think it's more about Will's talent level declining, or the revolving door of schmucks at RT this year?

I doubt it will happen, but I'd love to have him back.

Thanks Will.

I would agree with the revolving door of schmucks theory.

The Oline that gels together. That really never happened this year. Turley/Welbourne/Terry etc at RT. Bober,Black,Turley at LT... just too many issues of cohesion and talent issues around him.

Thanks Will for being one of the bright spots on an otherwise dim team. If it is your last game we'll be losing one of the greats.

come on, he's still a good player, losing some? yes, but token pro bowl? no way still played strong

Good guy that Mr. Will the NFL could do worse than having a couple more like him.
always a chief, great in the community

Will's still a good lineman. Just no longer an elite one.

I'm thinking he might stick around.

We could use a good guard next year. We'll be trying to establish two tackles, I don't think we'll be able to find someone suitable to replace Will, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him return.

Speculation based on stories that he only returned this year because Roaf talked him into it.

Will Shields is a true man of the trenches, better yet a warrior in the trenches. I agree he wasnt at his best this year, him getting to the pro bowl even though he wasnt at his best shows you the respect the players and coaches have for him.
