This will probably put the kiss of death on the rest of the NFC teams, but I would really like to see the Packers get the last spot in that division.

Sentimental old fart I guess. Would like to see Favre have one more chance to get there.

I would like to see the Packers get in as well. Plus, the Giants do not deserve to be there. Hell, they are 1-6 in their last 7 games. They have "imploded"!

I've never been a Favre fan, though I appreciate how good he was.

Of course, if I were a fan, I think I'd rather see the Packers miss the playoffs so that Favre doesn't embarras himself against a good team.

The NFC would stand up as a good example why expanding the playoffs is a bad idea, and could well be used to argue for cutting back.

I agree with that 100%. The Chiefs need to shut up about the playoff expansion. STFU

yeah, no expansion, but Silver had a pretty good idea (CNNSI.com) give the four wildcards to the next four best records, regardless of conference.

The purest in me wants to scream no, because it could mean an AFC vs AFC superbowl. But the more I think about it, I could give in to the idea because it would mean more exciting playoffs, more deserving teams in the playoffs and even a better game on superbowl sunday.

Its happened before. Even in the early 90's when there was only 1 wildcard team in each league.

Thats why i laugh when the TV guys say there is too much parody today. Its always been that way.

That isnt no lie. I think they playoffs should stay this way. Expanding them are for crybabies that wont put enough effort into their organization.

Carl needs to STFU and start building for the postseason expansion, he is embarassing the city and fans of KC....

Although Tiki Barber has carried so many times, I predict his production will really fall off next year.

The Raiders could beat the Bears?

As long as Brooks is the Raiders QB, and as long as Grossman is the Bears QB...yes. It would be ugly, but the Raiders would win.

So would the Packers have to beat the Bears by 14 to get into the playoffs?

No. Strength of victory is the won-loss-tie percentage of the teams you have defeated. It's like strength of schedule, except it only includes teams you have defeated.

If the Packers win, there is a 4 in 10,000 chance the Packers could win the strength of victory. In other words, almost every game on Sunday would have to go their way.

So the teams they played or lost to would have to win or something like that? Nevermind, it's not going to happen anyway. The league got what they wanted...a NY team in the playoffs. Tomorrow, you'll see the Jets get a bunch of calls go their way too.

I think they need to get more teams into the playoffs. People will argue and say, "well then there will be 8-8 teams in there, and teams that won't win in there, yada yada etc." Newsflash: There already are. Why not get more in there? Money-wise, it makes sense, and that's what the NFL is about, every pro league is.

More teams in the playoffs? I dunno about that... I think you're good with 12 of 32 getting in now. Why reward more mediocrity?

It may seem like it makes sense money wise, but its not good for the game. And what isn't good for the game, will eventually effect the money.

A meaningful regular season is one of the strongest assets the NFL has. The NBA and NHL don't have that, and no one pays much attention until the playoffs.

I think there should only be division winners in the playoffs. 8 teams, that's it.
