This is the way I see this game playing out.

The combination of the Buckeye offensive speed and the Buckeye defense shutting down the Gators offense in the second half is going to be to much for the Gator defense to have to carry.

The Gator defense is going to get tired in the 3rd quarter and the Buckeyes will take over the game.

Final Score tOSU - 34 Gators - 14

I just hope both teams play their somewhere close to their best... between the Rose Bowl and a couple of other bowls, and then the Chiefs, I'm tired of seeing teams sleepwalk through games.

It's the one matchup I wanted... the best of the Big 11 vs the best of the SEC. There's always a chance at a long "feeling-out" period, but it should be fairly high scoring & I think closer than many are saying.

How appropriate that the Ohio State band should be playing the theme from Titanic. :)

OSU's terrible soft zone coverage probably cost them this game. OSU's DC has done an awful job with his schemes so far. It's the end of the first half, and OSU's defense plays this soft zone coverage with their DB's 10-15 yards off of the receiver. He's playing right into the hands of Urban Meyer's designed offense and making Chris Leak look like the Heisman winner, not Troy Smith. If OSU doesn't switch to more of a man-to-man and more blitz packages, this 34-14 deficit will become 30+ points. Let's see if OSU makes the adjustment at halftime.

IMO this is a shining example of how bad the Big 10 was this year.

All said and done, OSU played nobody on the way to that unbeaten regular season.

You sure? Ohio St. beat Texas, who was #2 at Austin. Then they beat Michigan, who was also the number 2 as well.

I think they have to if they want to see an end to terrible games like this one. 51 days rest is unacceptable, and an undefeated team should get a shot at the NC. Voting BSU #1 would be a HUGE step towards a playoff.

I hope AP does it.

I didn't think they would even if UF won, but this beating is so sound that it feels like OSU shouldn't even be there. So anything is possible.

He won just as many as Matt Leinart and Vince Young. Let David Klingler and Colt Brennan have the stats, he has a ring. Would it really matter all that much if he had 160 TDs through his college career if he had no nat'l title? Nope.

Looks like Leak has done the job for Florida, regardless of what his stats shows.

Don't know if I buy that....in his Senior year Palmer was everything he was suppose to be. Leak had people calling for him to be benched this year, and had his share of really awful typical moments it was like he never developed.

51 days rest is unacceptable.

It is not the BCS fault that the Big10/11 mandate that all games must be played by Thanksgiving. Plus the Big 10/11 refuses to have a conference championship game. That is why there is a 51 day layoff.

I can't believe Chris Leak is going to win a championship......he's still an udder disappointment for what he was suppose to be.

I still think you're giving him way too much criticism.

As a true freshman with nine starts, Leak threw for 2,435 yards, while completing 59.4% of his passes, and threw 16 TDs to go with 11 picks. As a sophomore, he improved on all his numbers, completing 59.6 % of his passes for 3,197 yards and a career high 29 TD passes with just 12 interceptions. I believe those numbers were under Zook, correct?

Then the new coach comes in, and brings in his new scheme. Isn't that one reason why Leak, at times, played like a freshman at times, becuase of the terminology of the playbook has changed? Also, what you mentioned, that he wasn't suited for Meyer's style of offense, yet he still produced, and actually won a NC?

Some people are so hyped, they couldn't possibly live up to it. And fans love going against the hype, which puts more pressure on the player.

And the numbers were improving from his FR year to his SO year. Why the numbers didn't go any higher, is debateable.

Has it becuase he reached the ceiling in terms of potentional growth? Or could it becuase that he had a new coach, and a new offensive coordinator in his Junior year, where he has to go back and relearn the terminology?

Either way, as Hamas mentioned, the guy won just as many as Matt Leinart and Vince Young has, and he won a NC.

Short QB's will kill you on draft day, that I can agree. But the scouts and coaches these days are all having hard-ons about wanting a QB that is 6'6", 240 and has a laser rocket arm.

How that's going to translate to the NFL, can go either way. He can be like Carson Palmer/Ben Roethlisburger or he can be Daunte Culpepper.

Same thing with a 6'0 QB. While he may be height challenged, doesn't change the fact that player could be potentionally good, or potentionally bad.
