Sometimes I wonder if Sasha Kaun is worth the trouble. Sure he can score 13 or 15 points in a game, but he's also likely to have a few turnovers, pick up a bunch of fouls, get rejected by the rim on a dunk attempt, and he can only play defense against big stationary guys.

It's bullshit that every time KU plays, they beat themselves more than the other team beats them.

KU lacks basic basketball fundamentals. I can't count the number of times I see KU players fly up in the air going for a big block and the offensive player never even left his feet. You don't jump unless they do.

And then there's the ridiculously stupid shot selections and just bad overall passing.

Self is a great recruiter, but a very, very average coach. The talent gap between the super programs like KU, UNC, and Duke is closing more quickly than ever, and you can only skate by on talent alone for so long before you just get absolutely exposed, and that's exactly what's happening to KU lately.

From the games I watched of them this year. They havent played no where near the level they are playing today... I watched the KSU/TT "cant hit the broad side of a barn" shooting fest not long ago...

I have seen KU using the full court press in the past 4 or 5 games from early on in the game. It has been very effective. Many KU fans have been calling for this since KU has so much talent and depth. I don't understand why Self chose not to do this until late in this game. And when he finally did go to it, KU forced Tech into several turnovers. It has nothing to do with what kind of shots they made on offense.

Which is why we lost to Bucknell. Bucknell was six guys deep and we let them take their sweet ass time. Then refused to run them into the ground. We were pretty deep that year. Bucknell had absolutely scrubbs on the bench. All we had to do was tire them out and it would of been game over.

There's no question Self's style creates close games most of the time. Problem is, KU still hasn't established their roles. KU has had, what, four different "go to" players at the end of games already this year? Collins is now the flavor of the month, and is certainly talented. But this team just doesn't seem comfortable at times down the stretch of some of these close games.

Every time I call the KU ticket office, they tell me they're sold out. The only place to go is the ticket brokers that jack the prices up.
