That being said im for the Colts.

Bingo.

That, and Peyton getting one might make him a little less hungry, in the event we ever stop being pretenders and actually contend for the SB anyday soon. :banghead:

that's what I can agree with. It's not that I like Manning1, it's that I don't want a Payton road block in the comming years.

But mostly I am glad that we don't have to see a sideline of grey sweat shirts come SB sunday. I still can't believe the NFL doesn't put a foot down about that.

Not the wearing the sweatshirt part, I don't care that much about that in particular, but as strict as the dress code is on the field I'm surprised that the HC can wear a sweatshirt with the arms cut off.

My normal rule of thumb is to root for whatever AFC team is in there unless its the donx or raiders.

I am so sick of manning though, that I'm rooting for the Bears this year.

Indy vs. Windy

Colts great O vs. Bears great D: cancel each other out

Bears good O vs. Colts good D: cancel each other out

Gould vs. Vanderjagt: cancel each other out

But...Hester will cut through the Colts special teams tacklers and be the key difference throughout the game!

I'm rooting for the team that wasn't handed their win by the refs.

Between the bogus pass interference called against the Pats when he didn't even touch the receiver, the non pass interference on the mugging of #87 in the endzone, and the Colts lineman that was clearly down when he recovered the fumble before he stuck the ball over the line into the endzone, the Colts were given a 21 point gift without having to earn it. Just for that, I'm rooting for the Bears who I didn't think I would ever root for for any reason.

Crap, this was the absolute worst matchup we could have gotten. I don't like either team about the same. Even though I only wanted the Saints to win it all I will probably end up rooting for the Bears just because of Mangina.

I will wait and see what my instincts tell me on game day to determine who I want to win though.

The Colts will win.

Their Offense has shown in recent history that when you have an explosive offense against a dominate Defense the Offense wins out.

The Colts beat the Ravens D at least the last 3 times they have played 15-6,24-7 and 20-10

The Colts beat the Bears he last time they played in 2004 41-10

The Colts scored more yesterday on the Pats D (who set a franchise record this season for least amount of points given up in a season) in a half (32 in the 2nd half) than what has been scored in an entire game on the Pats this year (38)

I'm rooting for the Colts for the simple fact that I'm sick of seeing NFC teams being so overrated and playing in a weak ass conference. The real superbowl was yesterdays Colts vs Pats. Colts earned their way in by playing two tough teams in the Ravens and Pats. Bears played a tough NO team but also got to play a Seattle team that was really subpar. I want the Colts to win to further prove AFC superiority.

If the Bears played in the AFC they'd be about the third or fourth best team in the conference.

I dislike both teams equally. One of my friends is a huge Bears fan, and I started hating them about halfway through the season after repeated smug ass phone calls and conversations. My hatred for the Colts, though, knows no bounds. I guess I'll have to pull for the Bears.

Sure I did. So? In the first Marty is cursed by a kicker that can't kick straight. In the second our game plan consists of slaming Johnson into the line and now and then letting an over the hill Green throw it into the ground. How is that the Colts fault?

Colts = Broncos? You've got to be joking.

As much as I hate any professional football player who's name ends in Manning....

I may take a bullet by rooting on the colts....let me explain...

If the colts win....maybe the networks will have to actually dream up some other story to hammer into the ground each weekend (other than "the greatest living QB never to win a big game).

Either way...I'll probably end up depressed.

Hmm... somehow I didn't reply to this but posted anyway. Duh.

The stadium is ugly as a bulldog's asshole from the outside, but beautiful inside. Our seats were in the 19th row of the south endzone, about 60 feet from the big blue NFC "N". It was cold, but not horribly so. I already talked about it a bit in the NFC Championship Game thread.

And no, I didn't wear Chiefs stuff. For a game of this level and magnitude, the idea of wearing stuff from a non-participating team just seemed retarded. Besides, the Bears are my NFC step-team. I wore a Bears knit cap and cheered (and booed Bush) along with everybody else.

Colts... wish it had been the Saints and then I would've had a difficult decision.

First, as an old AFL fan I pull of the AFC team unless it is the Donks or Faiders.... but, I'm also getting tired of the Pats always winning.

2nd. Dungy lives his Christianty and has proven he can win without berating players. He does things the correct way. Plus, (unlike Herm) he has learned that Martyball doesn't win championships and has adjusted.

3rd. I'd like to see Manning get his ring. For the Manning haters on here ... one has to admit that he is an excellent QB. He has the numbers to prove it. He conducts himself well on and off the field. Plus, as Ck_in said ... Archie was one of the best QB's in the NFL that never won coz he was drafted and had to stay with one of the worst teams in the history of the NFL.

But, I suspect the Bears will win.
