A poll will arrive soon, after much gesticulating at pointing at the middle linebacker as the offensive linemen move and shift around.

I remember the first time I saw Peyton.

He was quarterbacking Tennessee at Auburn ... I was walking in front of my TV ... . He approached the line of scrimmage and surveyed the defense. And then ... it's like he SAW me. Our eyes locked. He stared deep into my soul. Maybe it was just the camera angle, but it was as if we BONDED.

That boyish grin ... the little twinkle in his eye ... the mouthpiece perfectly positioned ... the gesticulating and shouting, the dancing up and down as if he had fire ants in his protective cup ...

What are my feelings about the reigning AFC champ? *Sigh* Where do I begin ...?

I agree, but for some reason he still annoys me. Probably our inability to get passed his team in the playoffs.

I think he was due for a SB game.

Maybe then the choke stigma talk will subside. I was starting to think the "whiff" hype was out-hyping the Peyton hype.

I'm curious about this because I see so many negative comments about him on this board. I hate that the Chiefs lost to the Colts, and I hate Eli Manning for thinking he's better than the league, and I don't like the fact that Manning and the Colts commit false start penalties on every play, but I respect the guy as a student of the game and one who is willing to do the work to succeed and one who seems to enjoy the game itself as opposed to just being in it for the money. Overall, I'm a Peyton fan.

I don't really hate him or any other of these high profile players that actually have skill, just the way the media always goes overboard and sucks them off constantly and how the league caters to them. So I hate the media and the NFL.

I respect that he's a great player. However, watching him in a game makes me want to throw things at my TV. Things I dislike about him, in order of my hatred from least to most:

1. Too much media attention (not his fault)
2. Too many commercials (also probably not his fault)
3. He looks like he's pouting the entire time he's on the football field. I wanted them to lose yesterday just to see him cry.
4. That stupid arm waving audible every play BS that he does before every freaking snap.

I think Manning is a great QB. To my knowledge, he has never had any off the field problems. He plays hard. He's the leader of his team. I'm may not be a fan of the Colts but I can respect a good players game. He is a little like Elway in the fact I hate him when the Chiefs play them but I respect what they do on the field.

Never cared for him a whole lot due to the sexual sexual harrassment story that assistant athletic trainer by shoving his butt in her face and then slandering her. But I've been amazed at his QB'ing skills. 'Bout time he's gotten to a SB!

I don't like him very much, Mr. Rain Man. Mainly because of his line of scrimmage antics. Also, he's a big whiner and a poo-faced, pud stomper. Oh, and he's ugly and a cheater and a crybaby and a media whore and should have every other one of his teeth removed to better fit his personality.

I think that about covers it.

Either way, I just want Manning to cry on national TV. Plus, it would be great if, in a fit of anger, he blamed the loss on his mom.

I hate Eli Manning for thinking he's better than the league

I wonder how much of this was advice from Peyton and Archie. It seems like Arichie has convinced people he was a good QB because his sons are (or Eli was supposed to be). Hearing how great Peyton is then watching him choke so bad in playoff game after playoff game. Although I'm fully prepared to ratchet it down a bit if he wins a SB. Bradshaw is a steaming pile of a person but he's got a ring so you have to respect his football.

Great player. But, he's a dork. Plain and simple.

He's like Marino in all aspects. Especailly right down to his antics when he throws a pick. Bitching at his receivers and whatnot.

I'd love to have him as our QB, but he's such a f*cking dork. This is what I always imagined him saying when he misses an open receiver...

Ya know, i used to be totally fooled by his good 'ol boy act, then i heard a few stories here at the Planet & the kicker was a couple of weeks ago when Darryl Johnston told that story of meeting him as a kid & bradshaw basically told him to get lost & wasnt going to give him an autograph until his wife made him.

FAKE.

No other QB in this league does what he does as far as reading defenses, calling audibles, etc. The guy is a HOF even if he doesnt ever win a SB. I dont understand why people hate him so much. He doesnt get into trouble off the field, he seems like a family kinda guy, the guy's competes and has the heart of Brett Favre. He's pretty much the face of the entire league. No other QB works harder than he does.

I like Manning alot. He didnt dodge the draft like his little brother. He came into a shitty Colts team and basically single handedly turned them into a powerhouse in the league. People wanna argue when he "threw his Oline under a bus" last season. Well, he should have because the protection was absolutely awful. The Colts lost Edgerrin James and the Colts defense this season for the most part was terrible. Manning and Harrison both pretty much got this team to where they are now. Manning is the best QB in the NFL hands down regardless of what he's done in the playoffs. I think it's stupid to judge a QB on how many rings he has considering football is a team game. How many rings do you think Brady would have if New England didn't half as good of a defense as they did. I bet he wouldnt even have one ring. while Brady is accurate and doesn't make too many mistakes except last Sunday's game, those New England teams won pretty much with their defense.

I sure as hell wish Manning was our QB. Having said all of this I wish we would have had his head in the playoff game and every other time he plays KC.

I have seen the same maturing this year.

Elway went through this same development. Sometimes I think with super talented QB's it take time to learn how to be patient and take what the defense is giving.

Manning is a much better QB this year.

People that are anti-Manning, are going to place the blame on him. People that aren't, and that actually understand football, can see the big picture.

Tennesse with Manning had good teams.... The 1998 team was good and lucky. That is what it takes... Good & Lucky.

Great QB, coach on the field is unvalueable, student of the game, doesn't talk a lot of shit, has a clean image, poster boy of the league, doesn't get into trouble, good role model for younger players.

I would personally take him over any QB............ever.
