I said "That's no lie"
Then I blew a hole in him
Just as big as the sky...

:toast: Cheers fellow Dick-heads. To the best damn bar band I've ever seen. Those that never saw the Beat Farmers live missed one hell of a good time.

Without a doubt,I'm also thankful they released Live,Loud & Plowed to capture some of the live energy.

I was actually fortunate enough to see them perform once in their hometown of El Cajon,Ca at a bowling alley bar no less. They tore the hell out of the place.

Wow, I'll bet that was something. How much tequila did Dick guzzle down? Did he do the camping thing?

I first saw them at Cabooze in Minneapolis and had no idea who they were. Hooked ever since.

Loud and Plowed is definetely the CD to own. Still, the BFs were a band that had to be seen live in order to get the full effect IMHO.

Thanks for chiming in, I knew I couldn't be the only one on this board who had heard Country Dick belt out "California Kid" and "Lucille" and all the others.

As par to the course Dick was drinking heavily,as for the camping thing I only saw him do that once at The Lone Star in Westport(saw them 3 times in all)he went to the table in front of ours and cleaned it off in one swoop with everything hitting the floor and planted his ass right on the table, luckily the guys sitting there were Beat Farmer fans so they weren't surprised.I'll never forget him sitting there and asking if anyone wanted to hear anything specific and I blurted out,"Roll Another Number For The Road."

Dick says something like,"yeah that would be a good one" and proceeds to reach in his pocket and take out a number and fire it up right there as the band started with the song.

By the end of that evening Dick was so trashed he carried the microphone to the bar with him, gets up on the bar counter and proceeds to sing a song while walking down the bar kicking bottles and crap out of his way.

As I recall that was the one and only time The Beat Farmers played The Lone Star.

BTW,if you haven't seen this video,enjoy
