Possibly. Carl Peterson told the Austin American-Statesmen that they will make a decision on Priest Holmes' future in the next three months. Holmes has three years remaining on his contract, which I'm sure he would love to get every last bit of. This news about Holmes really pisses me off. I am growing tired of Priest Holmes' "I'm a recluse" routine. Cheer on your teammates or get the hell off the team. I don't believe Holmes gives two shits about any of his teammates and that he is in this game solely for the money. I know its a business and all but Holmes just doesn't care about anybody he plays with. If he did, he would have come to some of the games this past season. Instead, he hung around Texas and created some baby momma drama. Whether he plays or not, I've lost respect for Priest Holmes.

Having PH would be a welcomed addition for 2007.

I agree. In whatever capacity he can play in, I would definitely like to have him.

Put me down on the I don't give a shit what he does category.

He's just milking the rest of his contract he's due as far as he can and I don't blame him one bit. He was underpaid the first 3 years he's played for us so he's just getting some "back pay" no pun intended.

Tired of hearing about it. I don't really see how a broken down RB that will turn 34 in October will help the Chiefs.

Priest was a great Chief, one of my favs, but it is time to move on.

Carl says he's going to be back and Priest says he needs to see another doctor. It's all about a settlement on his bonus money.

Anyone who believes that Priest will be back next year...or any year for that matter is delusional.

Why would anybody want Priest back at this point other than nostalgia? It's not like the guy can actually play...

I assume this is partially sarcasm. But if you modified it to say

"Why would anyone want Priest back at his present contract value"

Then it would probably be a 99% against. I don't know that he still can't play and I would still prefer to have him in at the 5 yard line.

Priest is done. He was averaging less than 4 YPC behind a very good OL early in '05. At this point his return isn't good for LJ and he can't contribute much anyway.

LJ barely averaged 4 this year without him.

It was good enough for LJ to average 5 YPC. Try again.

Priest is done.

Too bad we couldn't have him as an H back with LJ at tailback.

That would require an O-line that could give him blocks.

Chiefs | No one has new f*cking info about P Holmes
Fri, 2 Feb 2007 07:53:16 -0800

Randy Covitz, of the Kansas City Star, reports the Kansas City Chiefs have not had discussions with HB Priest Holmes as to whether he will play in 2007. At least not in the last 7 hours. Holmes has been in Texas, possibly working out, and possibly not working out. Former Chiefs HC Dick Vermeil was seen in Walmart on thursday crying about the rising cost of conditioner for dry or damaged hair.

REP. Also, no update on Roaf changing his mind or not changing his mind about playing.

Well, I hope Priest comes back.

He is a fine RB. I never questioned his heart, and desire to play the game of football, and I'll never forget what he did for this football team. He is a good teammate to have out there. I know it's clear LJ is the starter, but, I think Priest can suit being a role player on this team. I mean, gee, if we're gonna run the ball 40, 50 times a game you need someone else to share that load, and I think Priest could that.

I wouldn't count the guy out just yet. He's been through a lot of injuries in his career, and recovered later on, only to tear it up later on in his career. Even though he is getting older, I know that is not the greatest thing for a RB, but, I've seen guys get older at the RB position i.e. Marcus Allen, Emmit Smith, etc. Those guys were decent late in their careers. Im hoping Priest can be like one of those guys.

*What im hoping for is that Priest can come back, and accept a new role on this football team. I mean, I think he would give us great depth at the RB position, and just to be a good teammate. I remember him cheering at times for LJ on the sidelines when he shared the load. When you see guys like Priest who don't quit, and cheer on their teammates, those are good guys that you want on your football team. I'd welcome him back with open arms. No doubt about it.
