Yea i was just reading that country radio pretty much ignored the album. It was produced by Rick Rubin who has worked with everyone from Beastie Boys to AC/DC to Johnny Cash so it probably has more of a rock feel to it?

She did, but that's why it's funny. She'll just piss the same people off again, and they'll all hate her even more. The only thing she could do to make the people that hate her like her again would be to get down on her hands and knees in front of the president, apologize, and offer to blow him. Then they'd probably complain about her technique.

Now, the Dixie Chicks's lead singer, Natalie Maines, freely shares her dislike of the song.
"Don't get me started," Maines told the Los Angeles Daily News. "I hate it. It's ignorant, and it makes country music sound ignorant. It targets an entire culture - and not just the bad people who did bad things. You've got to have some tact. Anybody can write, 'We'll put a boot in your ass.' But a lot of people agree with it. The kinds of songs I prefer on the subject are like Bruce Springsteen's new songs."

Anyone can cover any song with a license from the Harry Fox Agency. Once the license has been issued, royalties to the original composer must be paid to HFA, which in turn pays the composer (that's a very simplified version, BTW).

Might as well put this in your sig, "I WORK AND LIVE IN HOLLYWOOD"

I'm sure that you're familiar with tires and wheels and other aspects of car repair at your job in Raytown, just as I'm familiar with the inner-workings of "Hollywood". My work at Universal and Paramount surely parallels your work at Firestone.

All I've done is answer questions, as I'm sure you do when someone asks "How long will this take?" and "Where is the restroom?"

Translation;

"I work in Hollywood, so my job is much better than yours. I've worked at this major studio, and this one. I've met 536 movie stars. My life is much better because I deal with famous people."

And btw, I don't work at firestone, I do work at a place I like and live a comfortable lifestyle.

I'm more interested in the best sites to download pirated movies

You know what? Back in the day, when people like KCWolfman and others perused Chiefsplanet on a daily basis, I engaged in similar topics, generally on the side of the artist, composer, actor and actress. After trying, for years and years, for the studio and music heads to see the "future", I gave up.

It was a fruitless fight, one based on my passion for music, film and the arts. Only "they" couldn't see it.

These days (very sadly) I say get it while you can.

That's your inferiority complex at work there. Sorry to hear about that.

I'm not trying to pick a fight. Just that Dane is always pulling the "I live in hollywood" card. And it is annoying.

I apologize; I don't remember what your original screen name was at that time and I'm sure you're all too familiar with my historical views on piracy.

FWIW, "Hollywood" isn't at fault; it's your local movie theater (or theater chain). Tickets out here are at least $14.00 per person - it's the theater charging the price, not the studio. Otherwise, the ticket fee would be the same nationwide, like DVD prices at BestBuy, Blockbuster, Circuit City, etc.

There's many factors involved and I'm certainly NOT trying to defend anyone for the current prices. But studios alone aren't to blame for the current ticket prices. Just so you know.

I like waiting until they become the not-so-new releases. I can go see them for $2.50 at The Palace here in Springfield. They play movies that are not in the theaters anymore, but not yet out on DVD.

Really? Well it seems to ME that this thread has been about the music business. Also, people have had legitmate questions about the music industry and music licenses. Can you accurately engage in that conversation? How does that have anything to do with "Hollywood"? Where did I even state that "Hollywood" was even part of the conversation?

As a six year member of this community, should I not only be ABLE to correct such misconceptions displayed in this thread, but shouldn't I be RESPONSIBLE for doing so?

Then why make issue with my information on this topic? Have YOU worked in music publishing or for a record company? Do YOU have insight into this topic that others on thread don't have? Is there something of VALUE you'd like to share?

For people that seem to "hate" Hollywood, there are several new topics everyday that relate to television, film and music. From time to time, I'm able to give insight into the "inner workings" that most otherswise wouldn't know about.

If you don't like my comments, please put me on ignore.
