The only thing that sucks is that with Marty gone, they actually have a legitimate shot at making the Super Bowl now. It's all in the selection process. With the right man (Norv Turner, Pete Carroll, etc) they can be back in the AFCW basement as soon as next year.

Okay, maybe not as bad as Oakland. But 3rd place definitely is a real possibility.

Oh well, we're glad to have him..

Word is they are going to make a big push for Carroll. That is no secret.

Someone else made a good point about potential sanctions. Might be a good time to get out.

Too bad for the Bolts, sure seems like the only 'big' names left are 4-3 guys.

They are built 34, drafted 34, and play a damn good 34. Tough spot for the Bolts me thinks.

I think AJ really wanted Wade Phillips in 08

Not as much as it sometimes seems, but if you give him the talent that Eggo has i think he could REALLY burnish his credentials.

The guy is no slouch, Bellichick or no.

I was just thinking that. It would be a good fit because they already have a good defense. However, he's got a pretty good job right now with all the offensive weapons in Washington, a new QB, and a fat contract. I wonder if his name will come up.

"Talent" is relative. Some coaches get players to play up to a certain talent level, and some don't. Marty, at least in the regular season, has always gotten players to play up to and beyond their potential for the most part. And talent is also a product of chemistry, and can disappear the next year. For example, look at our 13-3 team from 2003. We had, what, 8 pro bowlers on that team? Most talent in the West they said. And we followed it up with a 7-9 record?

Now granted the Chargers are a young talented team, but the dynamics there will definitely change and if the coaching isn't as good as it was and players don't play up to par, things can change in a hurry...

Parcells going to the Chargers makes no sense whatsoever. Parcells won't coach for a controlling GM. Parcells always wanted personnel power. He made the famous "If I'm going to cook dinner, let me buy the ingredients" statement about how he needed to pick the players he would end of coaching.

I also heard an interview with Vinny Testaverde where he said that Parcells told him he didn't enjoy coaching any longer. He wasn't having fun even when they won games. Maybe that was because Dallas was a bad situation for him, but I really think he's had his fill. At least for a while. Maybe he'll come back down the road.
