We got near snowblind conditions here. And a car just slid off into the ditch in front of our office.

At first, they said we would get 1-3 inches of snow here. Then, it was supposed to be 6-8 inches with blizzard-like conditions for the first few hours. Lastly, it ended up being "a flake or two". I don't know if we got either flake this morning. It's damn cold, but no snow. Knock on wood.

I don't think winter has ever affected me as much as this year... I've never believed in the whole lack of sunshine can cause depression thing, but I'm really starting to change my mind.... I need to get out of the cave so badly right now it's killing me...

And the day after the snow finally melts off the driveway.... I wake up to more white shit... ARRRGHH...

Its basically a white out here, blowin' like crazy. I dont mind it too much, was always of the mind that this is how winters supposed to be, it bothers me when its 50 in January or Febuary.

Going out in it has an adventurous appeal to me, reminds me of Alaska where tons of non-stop snow is the norm. One thing they do up there that is so much smarter is put small pebbles down on roads instead of salt, salt melts it for awhile & then it freezes right back up, whereas with pebbles, you get a permanent knobby surface that really improves traction & doesnt rot your ride.

I say let it snow, its the ice storms that kill the power that i hate, this is actually kinda fun.

Having said that, i prefer warmer weather.

There is hope. I was in Wal-Mart and they are stocking up the lawn and garden department. We just have to hold on a little while longer. :deevee:

The only thing I hate about it is the driving and the shoveling, other then that I just expect it. Plus I know I loved it as a kid, and I know my boy loves it. Which is more important to me.

I much prefer the freezing cold of the winter to the blistering heat of the summer. Especially when it's so ****ing humid all the time.

I am with you boog. But next week is starting to look nice with the temp being in the 50's for 3-4 days straight. Maybe the ice on my driveway and yard will finally melt.

Got around 8 inches of new snow here last night and today and winds gusting at over 40 mph. When I went to work at 4:30 this morning the highways had barely been touched. I hit a patch and started fish tailing, then slid sidways for a bit and ended up in the middle of the highway pointed the other direction. Thankfully I was able to get turned back around and get to work... and thankfully there was no one behind me. It was near white-out conditions at that point. Fun.

We are at 96 inches of snow at my dwelling right now. It sounds like a lot (and it is) but it really isn't that bad.

I can't recall how long its been since we have had this much snow. Usually we get one big snow and a few ice storms.
