or if you're buying a set-up in the near future, what do you have your eyes on?

I saw the biggest TV I've ever seen yesterday. It projected the picture onto a wall. The guy said it was 10 feet (diagonal measurement)

I have a 42" plasma tv with a Sherwood surround sound receiver (5.1). I have KLH center and rear speakers with side speakers that I built about 20 years ago. I also have a Sony subwoofer. I can shake the house with that setup. I'm still using my standard DVD player. It works fine for now.

I keep my Home Theatre at an AMC Multiplex. I just wish they didn't keep charging me so much for rent. Heck, I told them they could charge other folks to use it, why do they keep charging me?

That's roughing it for a Raiderfan. I understand that most Raiderfans are enjoying cable tv piped right into their cells thanks to us taxpayers.

I got the remote control because I can use it to change channels on the TV without getting up. I would highly recommend it.

Does your closet have particularly good acoustics?

I'm not sure. You'll have to ask Mr. Kotter.

The TV has surprisingly good sound which is why I've been in no hurry to hook up the surround. Plus I'm planning a built-in for the entire corner but that's a low-priority project.

If my dvd player only has one HDMI connection, am I better off connecting HDMI from the receiver to the dvd player, or from the dvd player to the tv?

In theory it shouldn't matter since its a pure digital signal.

I'm looking at the Panasonic 42PX600U.

I've seen it for roughly $1300 on-line.

It's a Plasma, so I'm sure that someone will come along and say: "your and idiot!" in t-minus one minute.

Currently I'm using a 27 inch Panasonic that has to be over 10 years old. The old one will go in my man cave downstairs
