View Full Version : Pacman Jones for 5th round pick?

Who cares if he threw $81k at the strip club. I'd take him.

Per rotoworld:

The Titans are reportedly "actively shopping" troubled CB Pacman Jones.
When asked about the situation Friday, Titans GM Mike Reinfeldt said he'd "assume there is that potential" that Jones could be moved. Profootballtalk.com reports the Titans could take as little as a third-round pick in exchange for Jones. Moving him would cost them $5.4 million, but the Titans have plenty of breathing room to withstand the cap hit. Feb. 23 - 4:55 pm et

And then there is this from profootballtalk:

NO TAKERS FOR RAIN MAN

Word out of Indy is that no one is interested in trading a first-day pick for cornerback Rain Man Jones.

One league source says that Jones might eventually be obtained with a fifth-round selection.

Jones' star has plummeted this week after reports of a bizarre incident at a strip club that began with $81,000 in a garbage bag and ended with three people getting shot.

Sorry, but last I checked, Kansas City has a nightclub in it.

If the NFL ever expands to Alaska or the Amish Country, one of those teams should look into picking him up. If you have a nightclub in your city, on the other hand, stay away.

This crazy bastard's gonna go Rae Carruth on somebody someday. If his team is extremely lucky it won't be a teammate. I want absolutely nothing to do with this lunatic.

I knew he was trouble from the day he was drafted.

You could tell by his thuggish attire he wore on draft day. Every other supposed top 10 pick was dressed up in suits all nice and stuff, while Pacman homie G gansta Jones was dressed in sagging pants, a jersey, with sunglasses on and a pimp cup. He looked like the rapper Lil' Jon.

He'll probably end up in Dungver, where he will haunt us for years to come...

if it were madden, I'd say hell yes

if it's real life, and there's no way to control him and his idiotic behavior, I'd say hell NO

Who cares?

I do.

Why?

Because now that we actually have a good scouting department, we could realistically get actual production out of a 5th rounder. No sense in flushing any more picks down the toilet.

Since Carter, Vanover and Bam Morris have gone, KC hasn't had any real thugs or lawbreakers. Well, with the exception of Jared Allen and he's not a thug. I don't think they need any now in my opinion.

Yeah, you guys should sign T.O. and Randy Moss too. Also try and get Lawrence Phillips on some kind of work-release program and bring Brian Bosworth out of retitrement.

He's going to be better than anything you'll pick in the 5th round....not to mention he does punts and kickoffs so we could get rid of Hall's worthless ass too.

Teams will be interested in this guy because.....he's on a rookie contract where you don't get the bonus part. So even if you took him for a low pick and it didn't work out it basically be no harm done.

Thats about the only thing hes good for. He got burned as a DB last year.

Actually, he had a pretty good year defensively last year. He was terrible as a rookie.

Yep, Mecca mentioned it as well. That is an appealing benefit. Like CoMoChief said, he could hang with LJ.

Considering his track record, I'm not sure you can use the words "Norv Turner" and "led" in the same statement.

Pac Man Jones? No thanks. I'd rather make do with our aging secondary than bring in that POS.

Quentin sucked his first 3 years or so, the last 2 years he's really stepped it up big time.

The difference is that Pacman does not have long term potential. He keeps screwing up.

Because Marcus Maxey has such great potential that he got cut by not 1 but 2 teams last year.....

Getting traded to a team and not getting a new contract is rare. He may not have a choice in regards to the actual trade, but that doesn't mean he won't hold out.

You're being way too literal with the 5th rounder appropriation. The point is that we are actually getting some depth with our later round picks instead of them being throwaways.

Exactly. Nothing I saw last year made me think Pacman would be much better than Dexter McCleon. He's a midget, and full of problems. I want to keep all the draft picks. The draft is a crapshoot anyways, you get lucky, sometimes you don't.
