Dude, any draft that produced our team's true star and Herm's favorite player, Dustin Colquitt, is a resounding success.

The really sad part is that the 2007 Pro Bowl was all drafties from the 2005 draft.

Dammit Carl :cuss:

Johnson and Colquitt will be Pro Bowlers soon. 2 Pro Bowlers would make a very good draft.

Whats bad is it looks great compared to DVs other drafts

I was just about to say that. Thanks. I've considered that to be about the best of the DV drafts. 2001 and 2002 were complete whiffs. Take out Allen and Johnson and 2003 and 2004 were pretty bad as well.

& the NFL Network has him giving commentary at the combine

Isn't that a hoot! I make a mental red checkmark against anyone that DV praises. :)

OMG we suck at drafting. Is it dv or carl that has been in charge of picking players? I think herm did a good job last year with the tamba, page, and pollard picks. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come...

You've no idea what kind of war you're on the verge of starting! ROFL

My opinion is well known so I'll leave it at that.

You think Pollard was a great pick? He may become a great player but he didn't do anything at safety last year. His only contributions were on special teams which is kind of sad for a 2nd round pick, IMO.

He showed potential, believe it or not special teams makes a difference, his blocked punts sure did.

Yeah, I would agree with that Pollard showed athletic potential. I just think that a 2nd round pick ought to earn more time at their actual position. Anyway, I'm not knocking the guy- outside of a few youtube videos and his rookie year for us last year I don't know anything about him and I certainly hope he turns out to be Ronnie Lott mixed with Steve Atwater mixed with Rodney Harrison mixed with Troy Polamalu.

A lot of teams' drafts don't look very good.

it's true ... i think last years draft just looks so good to some people because they have come to expect so little from our drafts.

1 tamba hali - did what a 1st round pick is suppose to do, start some in his first year. He looks like a keeper

2. Pollard - not terrible ... but you hope a 2nd round pick would be able to play at a regular position. Especially considering how poor our defense has been.

3. Croyle - meh, neither good or bad ... just there

4. :Lin:

5. Maxey - you hope a 5th rounder is good enough to make team is some compacity.

6. Webb - about what you expect from a 6th rounder

7. Page - definitely exceeded expectations. A steal.

Well as someone who's forever looking at the bright side of things, I was hoping that last years draft was a sign that the organization had changed their drafting philosophy after making foolish draft day decisions for so many years. I mean Hali was a guy they drafted based on having good character and good fundamentals. Before they drafted guys like Freeman and Siavii based on potential and the fact that they were enamored with their size. They were drafting too many project players. Maybe I'm naive but I'm hoping they've learned from their mistakes.

From watching preseason games and some college I think that Pollard is good and will be good. I just think that Page is a little better right now and Herm, rightfully so, wasn't gonna start two rookies at safety. You have to have a veteren there (even if it is Greg Wesley). I look for both of them to get a lot of playing time this year.

Outside of DJ & Colquitt that looks pretty sh!tty.

Thanks DV.

All those drafts with a guy who wanted Ryam Sims and not Larry Johnson. :shake:

Every team has bad drafts. The Chiefs drafts are no worse that any team. There are good years and bad. I think getting two strong, possibly pro bowl players in a draft is solid, it's not great, but then there aren't many great drafts, maybe two or three teams a year can say they had super drafts.

Giant Toad eggs hatch between forty-eight hours and one week. The tadpoles metamorphose into small toadlets identical to the adults in forty-five to fifty-five days.

That's not long at all.
