I think the writing on the wall is telling us that the Bush Administration is executing it's exit strategy as we speak.
The surge, the sabre-rattling at Iran, the NK deal, Cheney's trip all over. I think they're all related. I wonder if we aren't positioning ourselves. It's possible that we're attempting to tie up our loose ends as best we can. I think the political environment has left few options. Maybe that's why republicans in the senate and house are sitting on their hands for the time-being. Maybe they've been reassured. Maybe the mid-term elections have necessitated all of this. I don't know...but it sure seems like a lot of things are going down pretty quickly.
I wouldn't be surprised to see all of this culminate into a justification for military withdrawal from Iraq. I think if they could find a way to save face and do it, they would do it in a heartbeat.

What? Is this sudden thought of mine totally off-the-wall? Is it not even worthy of telling me that I'm full of shit and need to take off my tin-foil hat?

You're full of shit.
Thank you for responding.
It was just a thought that struck me and I couldn't immediately refute it with my own logic. So I thought it might make for an interesting topic since it hasn't been raised as a possibility yet. I believed that raising that possibility might lead to thoughtful discussion which would either adopt or refute that theory as a possibility.
But I'm glad that you responded because now the poll is officially underway. We have one vote for "full of shit."

I think you'd better put your tinfoil hat on. Taking it off is what allowed these looney ideas to get in in the first place. ;)

Sure would be nice, but I cannot see this administration doing anything remotely that smart.

I am wondering why you felt the need to be rude about it (smilie). He was merely speculating.

Now they're willing to talk to Iran and Syria? Add that to the list of things happening that may be related to an ongoing exit strategy. Not saying it's so but it's not unreasonable to think it's a good possibility.
