McCain will run for president
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Setting aside any doubt about his presidential aspirations, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., announced Wednesday that he would seek the GOP presidential nomination.

McCain, who has had a presidential exploratory committee, made the declaration on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

"We are going to formally announce it in early April," John Weaver, a top advisor to McCain, told CNN. Weaver said the time and location will be announced at a later date. (Posted 7:10 p.m.)

Actually, I had just assumed that he had done this earlier.

IMO the only chance McCain has is if he's running against Hillary. I think both Obama and Edwards would beat him.

I couldn't vote for McCain. I am thankful and appreciate his service (and suffering), but I don't think he has the temperment for the office.

Anyone else think McCain is going to choose Lieberman as his running mate?

Of all the things to damn a man's candidacy for, that's a pretty weak.

How about my belief he would sell his mother into slavery for more TV exposure?

I actually agree with what he said. McCain is known to be very intemperate and mean—has a nasty temper that pisses people off. Not a good trait in a leader.

Actually, I think being a f*cking nutjob with a hair-trigger is a rather bad combination for one who has access to the "football."

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

McCain is old news. He's not going to win anything. Had he stuck to his original anti-Bush maverick ways then he possible could. But not now.
