If Carolina ends up losing this game also; can't wait to see the "experts" talk how Carolina should still be a #1 seed.

And UTEP keeping pace with Memphis.

Tell you what. Senior nights abound across the country and teams are playing their hearts out against the top seeds.

Many of those seeds have fallen, but KU has gone on a streak at just the right time of year. They haven't crumbled to the smaller guys trying to play David to their Goliath.

And that might be worth a #1 seed in itself.

UCLA is the only sure #1 seed right now, though Ohio State is looking good.

I agree; to me the #1's right now should be:

UCLA
Ohio State
Kansas
Carolina/Wisconsin

Although I am sick of seeing everyone so positive that Wisconsin is a #1.

I wouldn't mind seeing A&M included; problem is that they will finish 3rd in the Big 12, hard to justify a #1 seed for a 3rd place conference team.

I'm a Jayhawk fan, but I still don't see the Hawks getting a #1 seed unless they win out. One loss in the Big XII tournament OR against the Longhorns on Saturday will eliminate them from contention IMO. Our RPI is still low for a #1 seed and you can't justify us getting #1 if we lose to Texas and have to share a Big XII title with two other teams who beat us. I'm ok with that though because there isn't much of a difference between a 1 and 2 seed anyways. Besides, you may get a better draw in the second round as the 2 seed.

This Saturday's game isn't the type KU loses, especially in Lawrence. I think KU will win out and get a #1 seed. UNC and Wisconsin don't deserve it. Florida had better not lose another game.

TAMU, Florida, UNC, Nevada, VPI, and USC have shown just how easy it is to win on the road in college basketball.

Our RPI is still low for a #1 seed

RPI is not used in seeding whatsoever, only somewhat used to determine who makes the field. Case in point of RPI being useless is 2 years ago KU finished #1 RPI by a huge margin and promptly recieved a 4 seed.

You are completely off base. LISTEN. Are you listening? Since 1998, there has only been ONE #1 seed that has had a RPI worse than 7. ONE. And it was Michigan State with a 13 RPI. That year they were 11-6 against the Top 50 in RPI. That is a devastating schedule. KU is 3-2 this year. To say that "RPI is not used in seeding whatsoever" is simply an ignorant statement. It is true that KU was #1 in RPI and did not get a #1 seed, but to say it is not used at all is simply wrong. The correlation is obvious. In fact, almost 40% of the time, the top four seeds are 1,2,3 and 4 in the RPI. Face it, the NCAA Selection Committee heavily uses RPI. Not saying it's right or wrong, but sometimes it's hard for people to face reality.

HOWEVER, if KU wins out..we still have an outside shot because of how everybody is Phil Mickelsoning it down the stretch. Texas, and the two teams we will have to play in the Big 12 tournament really aren't going to help our RPI much. It's going to be pretty difficult to raise it more than 6-7 spots regardless.

You are not important enough to care about. I think those seeds are pretty accurate. If A&M finishes third in the Big 12, with their weak RPI, they will teeter in the 2-3 range. UCLA and Ohio State are locks for #1. If Wisconsin wins out until the Big 10 title game, they will get the third #1 seed. I really think Pitt is a #1 right now because of the downfall of UNC tonight, and Florida lately. Maryland is having a good run in the ACC, and they are really rising. Southern Illlinois will get at least a 4 seed this year. The only thing I'd maybe change now that I'm thinking about it is switch Maryland and A&M..I just don't really agree with Bracketology that A&M is for sure a #2 seed at this point. I'm sure some people will think I'm a little off base with Kentucky at 4 though. Who is everyone elses 1-4 seeds?

How did they get to thinking they are military? I alway figured they had a souped up ROTC program but was not interested enough to check.
