My question:

If he retires and voids his contract. What are the rules, then, about him going to play for another team? I assume he has to sit out a year or something?

Foreshadowing what Trent will do to us in the next few weeks.

I believe Denver holds his rights until his contract would have been up if he was still playing, that would be until the '10 offseason I think.

Nah, I'm predicting we get Green to restructure, then trade Huard to Miami for a fourth round pick and Brodie gets to compete for the starting job with Trent.

Hey, this is great. Now the Donkeys can't get anything for Plummer. Way to stick it to them Jake.

they can give him permission, but that would involve compensation.

and that signing bonus we just gave Huard will be flushed down the toilet????????

Trent will gladly uproot his family?

Or he could pay back some of the unamortized bonus money too

I doubt it would be gladly, but he doesn't want to retire.

Jake Plummer (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1003) will not be competing with Chris Simms (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/396084) for the starting quarterback job of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/TB). A reported trade that would have sent Plummer from the Denver Broncos (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/DEN) to Tampa Bay for a fourth-round draft pick was nullified Friday because of the veteran quarterback's decision to retire, according to Adam Schefter of NFL.com.

If you try to access the site you get the message that says: "the server just intercepted a Jake Plummer pass and is now in the endzone celebrating.

Nice to see that his last start was against us. Only to get benched during the game when the whole lower level of Arrowhead on the DEN side was chanting "Plummer Sucks!!!"
