It's no wonder that the OMane has been crashing all morning. I saw this too. Great pickup for the Broncos.

They'll sign Graham and Dre Bly and holy host of others and still be Eleventy Billion under the cap. Amazing..........

I would have to wait to see the actual contract details but $10 million dollars in guaranteed money for a backup TE seems a little exteme.

Bly just got us back to where we were before DW was murdered.
Graham solidifies the TE position, nothing more.
Running Back X will plug in and go.

I will not start sprouting any wood until Denver signs some DL talent.

I wouldn't qualify Graham as a backup considering all the 2 TE sets that the Pats run. He's was a very important aspect of their offense every year he was there. He was one of their team captains, FWIW.

I have a feeling that the Broncos will address RB through FA and DL through the draft. Considering our history with DL in the draft, that's a shaky proposition. DL is my one serious concern for 2007.

So is he going to start for the Broncos or will Scheffler?

So is he going to start for the Broncos or will Scheffler?

I think the Broncos will run a lot more 2 TE sets now...Graham will add a dimension to the running game as well as a legitimate pass threat, if needed, and Scheffler will add the dimension of a pass-catching, offensive minded TE. In other words it will allow the offense to be less predictable.

It will also allow us to get rid of a couple of the "specialist" TE's on the team and free up some roster spots.

Bly is better than D-Will.
D-Will was getting torched since everyone stayed away from Champ. When Champ came to Denver, everyone said he was regressing and overrated too. We'll see.

REPORTS OF GRAHAM DEAL NOT TRUE

John Crowe of WSKO radio tells us that he has spoken to Jack Mills, the agent for tight end Daniel Graham, and that Mills says that no deal has been reached between the Broncos and Graham.

Mills will appear on WSKO at 3:30 p.m. EST to address the situation. The spot can be heard right here.

And, on further review of our e-mailbox, we discovered a message from agent Tom Mills, who writes of Graham: "He has not agreed to terms with Denver or anyone. Don't know where that rumor started, but it's completely inaccurate. Dan will visit with the Broncos later today, but we haven't discussed contract and Dan is planning to take a trip to Oakland tomorrow and Seattle after that."

I heard Jarred Allen was seen having drinks with Shanny last weekend. Apparently they got shitfaced and Shanny stuck a 3 year incentive laden contract onto one of the steer horns on the front of Allen's ride. Then Shanny told him not to worry about his current obligation to KC since the Broncos are immune to contract rules, winked, and dissapeared in a puff of smoke. Allen was a little scared of Shanny's horns and tail but word on the street is he will be a Bronco next year.

The Browns DL move worked out better than you or anyone else expected.

What about the Bronco's history under Shanny would support your guess that all of a sudden Denver won't have a solid RB?

Where did Denver finish in the final rushing yardage rankings?

KC finished first IN THE LEAGUE in rushing yards in 1995, 4th in 1996, and 5th in 1997, without having one 1000-yard rusher.

And that's not the point.

The Broncos have, and will probably always have, a solid running GAME.

But right now, they don't have a solid running BACK.

My point is that just because you have a solid running game doesn't equal playoffs or success.

Hence 7 out of the top 10 rushing teams didn't make the playoffs.

I agree with you that they don't have a top running back and they haven't since they traded Portis away.

Nah, it worked out great. Nobody in dever expected that it would be a lifetime move. We just hoped that at least one of them would stand out. Instead, we got two: Warren and Ekuban.

I'm not sure why anyone expected we'd be riding that line for ten years or anything. It was mostly just a move to secure some depth.

****ing Denver... Scheffler was going to be my darkhorse TE for fantasy football... It will be interesting though, Cutler is in love with scheffler on the field.. So if they do use the 2TE sets like us will it hurt or help the chiefs on coverage??? I mean one less WR to cover should help our run-support I think...

I love the "great CBs don't matter in the AFCW b/c the WRs suck" argument.

I know it's taking a leap of faith on Denver's part that KC may actually bring in WRs to play next season, but it could happen.

If OAK keeps Moss and Porter, finding a decent QB could make them good. And, the Chargers have nowhere to go but up at WR.

See... the Bly signing is planning for the now and the future, with the thought that the other three teams in the AFCW might try to improve.

Also... there's a number of games played outside of the AFCW every year right?

29? I think he has been around for 8 years... I don't think anyone has said "He's the second coming of Bailey".

I do think that many are excited to have him over Foxworth or other options, and considering the price paid... most were out on those 2 anyway. So, it's an ok deal to me.
