Apparently they're going to call the new combined country Liechterline.

What if we gave an invasion and nobody cared?
Company of Swiss troops marches into tiny Liechtenstein by mistake

Updated: 2 hours, 19 minutes ago
ZURICH, Switzerland - What began as a routine training exercise almost ended in an embarrassing diplomatic incident after a company of Swiss soldiers got lost at night and marched into neighboring Liechtenstein.

According to Swiss daily Blick, the 170 infantry soldiers from the neutral country wandered 2 kilometers (more than a mile) across an unmarked border into the tiny principality early Thursday before realizing their mistake and turning back.

A spokesman for the Swiss army confirmed the story, but said that there were unlikely to be any serious repercussions for the mistaken invasion.

"We've spoken to the authorities in Liechtenstein, and it's not a problem," Daniel Reist told The Associated Press on Friday.

Officials in Liechtenstein also played down the incident.

Interior Ministry spokesman Markus Amman said nobody in Liechtenstein had even noticed the soldiers, who were carrying assault rifles but no ammunition. "It's not like they stormed over here with attack helicopters or something," he said.

Liechtenstein, which has about 34,000 inhabitants and is slightly smaller than Washington, D.C., does not have an army.

Hmm... looks like Switzerland is taking a page out of Germany's conquest of Austria during 1938.

Switzerland is a fascinating country. Did you know they make Absinthe all over the place, cheap, or even free? They have Absinthe snobs there who turn their noses up at the French Absinthe makers.

In this case, I think meandered is a better choice of word to describe it.

I remember the time my friends and I got drunk and invaded Liechstenstein. We ruled that country like nobody's business, but then the Swiss army got all high and mighty and kicked us out.

Everyone in the Swiss Army owns a Swiss Army knife. That's why no one messes with Switzerland.

Or a map? They couldn't stop for directions since they were all men.

Liechtenstein, which has about 34,000 inhabitants and is slightly smaller than Washington, D.C., does not have an army. That's gotta change. Within a year I'll bet they could take over Andorra. In a year or two, maybe even Luxembourg.

I'm beating you to it, I'm going to Europe day after tomorrow. While I'm there I'll take over Liechtenstein. I already know the language as I had 3 years of German in High School (unfortunately the only thing I remember from those 3 years is how to count to 10).

You realize of course that this is just another in a long-running series of agressions by the Swiss against smaller nations. They've had an occupation force in the Vatican for over 500 years.

Are you kidding? Do you know what kind of mischief the pope could do if he were unconstrained by the Swiss?

The Vatican should be free! FREE, I tell you! Now that I have learned about this, I'm going to make it my life's calling. Tibet can wait a little while longer.
