They just switched the game on tap out here for the Brigade game. KC has a 29-19 lead in the 3rd.

So much for that. Chicago scored quickly and its now 29-26.

Never heard of that guy. My experiences up there, due in large part to my own actions, were pretty negative, so I don't look back to those days too much. I was there in '94. Demonpenz
03-04-2007, 01:36 PM
Neo Aoga looks like a lineman, and that's exactly what his Azusa Pacific teammates thought he was.

Then they watched the 300-pound quarterback throw, and could hardly believe it.

"Everybody's mouths just dropped," Azusa Pacific star Jack Williams said.

Williams and Aoga are old friends. Williams ran into him by chance last spring and told him the Cougars needed an experienced quarterback. And the defending NAIA national champions found their man, a very big man.

"The first time I saw him, I said, `Man, this guy's huge,' and he is," said Peter Shinnick, first-year coach of the school 25 miles east of Los Angeles. "But I watched him run around a little bit, saw he could move around a little bit, he could throw, everything's good."

Still working off the rust of a three-year layoff, Aoga said Thursday he's down to around 275 pounds after weighing a hefty 309 when pre-season practice began six weeks ago.

I was at the game earlier. The place was never completely full and I estimate that there was at least 1500-2000 empty seats.

Crowd was loud, and into the game, but not as loud as last years home opener (I have season tickets). Still, probably the best game I have watched so far, but it seemed to move slower than most for some reason. Still, I'm liking the teams look so far this year.

I've been to 2 games. Last years opener and today's game. Last years was sold out or close. This year they gave away tickets.

The game was slow. The crowd wasn't into the game like the Chiefs games but maybe thats comparing apples to oranges?

It was okay. I'll probably not go back this year. I like the hits and defense of the NFL much better. But its a good way to spend an afternoon in the late winter.

Were you expecting different? :hmmm:
Welll I did get free tickets. So I got my money's worth of entertainment.
It's not that bad. It's just different. I don't want to rag on it. I'm a Chiefs season ticket holder. This was just something to do for free on a Sunday afternoon in early March. Can't get too passionate about the Brigade. I'm seeing someone else.

We ran the ball alot for an Arena game.

Well, if you fall into any more free tickets let me know. I would like to run my son up there to watch a game some time.

I was there and had quite a bit of fun. The Chiefs cheerleaders should be taking notes on the Brigade Girls. I liked that they had yell leaders as that enabled them to do the really cool throws and jumps and stuff. I did feel bad for the girls that were stuck in the endzone that was like practically in the stands. I'm sure they had to deal with some very unique comments from the obviously drunk men that were oggling them.

The dancing drunk guy they kept showing on the "jumbotron" was also quite funny.

Oh - and Kemper is a pit. The Sprint Center can't open soon enough.

I got an email with the code in it for the free tickets. I posted a thread on here with the code in it. Guess they went fast.

Lower level guy? We sat pretty close to the dude. He wasn't drunk. Just excited.

watched it on the tube, enjoyed the game. I hope the AFL starts to take off and gets the NFL some competition, maybe then the NFL will stop taking the fans for granted and shitting on us with these ridiculous policies and prices.

Yeah - that was probably him. I'm quite shocked that he wasn't drunk. Dude must really love his arena football.

You see that alot at games. Individuals trying to lead cheers.

At the Indy playoff game we sat by the guy that would get the crowd to yell first down.
