With 2 #1 seeds, and 7 teams total, it's no secret that THE BIG 10 RULES!!!
Could it be the 3rd year in a row that the Big 10 accounts for half of the final 4?

Hmmm, no big deal. I seem to recall the SEC pulling off this same trick a few times over the last 6 years. It's all cyclical... SEC RULES!!
03-13-2001, 08:38 AM
OK....My hat is off to ya,but only for a moment!
BIG 10 Rules ? Chock , gasp,cough..etc ! Get the point !

Pac 10 has the most championships
Big 10 is second
SEC is third
Big 12 simply is not even in the rankings.
03-13-2001, 04:04 PM
Sorry, Brad, The Pac10 is first. The Big 10 is second with titles and appearances. The SEC is in third.
On this board only UCLA has the right to brag over the Big 10, all others are posers.

Well for this year, it's a 2 foot putt... a slam dunk! With 13 teams in the tourney, it's hands down the BIG 12! From top to bottom, clearly the best league in the NCAAs! No doubt about it!
03-14-2001, 01:33 PM
How can a league with 12 teams send 13 to the tourney? Am I missing something?
03-14-2001, 01:46 PM
I'm not partial to any conference....
but there was a song when I was a kid..."1 little, 2 little 3 little indians.....10little Indian Boys."
and "I'm thinking of a number between one and TEN
On a scale of 1-10 my date was a______.
I sure like David Letterman's TOPTEN list...
I buy tootsie roles 12 for 10cents.
But I really don't have a preference ;)

Bo Derek was a smash in the movie '10'.

I know I have a TENdency to beat a dead horse....
But I have to leave for a meeting in Des Moines at 10:00
03-15-2001, 09:24 AM
I've been to (through) Des Moines. It's nearly a 10 hour drive from here.
In our office pool, everyone had to put in $10.
Man, this is too easy. I could come up with these all day.
03-15-2001, 09:44 AM
You don't have to pretend anymore...come on out and tell me which conference you like.
Do you think anyone from your conference of preference will be able to conTENd for the final 4?
(the fun never stops and I only have to kill 45 minutes before I leave) ;)
03-15-2001, 10:08 AM
I'll have to admit: I tool the day off to watch the opening round. I'll go down to the bar, and i'll ask the barTENder if he can figure it out.
He may have a TENder place in his heart for a certain conference. All other conferencees brag about swimming, girls BB and TENnis instead of Football, basketball, wrestling, etc.
03-15-2001, 10:17 AM
I just heard a PaT BENetar song on the Radio.
Maybe you and the barTENder can drink some coke and TEN high.
03-15-2001, 10:22 AM
I heard an older song on the radio: once bitTEN twice shy. While I was listening, I saw the neighbor's kitTEN playing with a ball of twine.
PaT BENnetar is great: she was the first female singer that I had a crush on; she made me aware of my sexual TENdencies. ;)
03-15-2001, 10:27 AM
she probably gave you your first case of "TENnis Elbow"
I have to go to my meeting now....Good luck to the teams you all pull for..
I kind of like the number nine. As in, the best basketball in the country is played by the 9 teams in the ACC.
03-15-2001, 01:24 PM
In the big 12, they have Womens hoops teams too. 7 of those teams got bids for the tourney. 7+6=13.
Ohio St. better watch out fer 'dem Utah States!!
03-15-2001, 01:37 PM
Bye-bye Wisconsin! Go big 10(11?)
How many Big 10 teams in the tourney?
03-15-2001, 02:02 PM
There are now 2 less teams from the lil' 10 in the tourney.
little 10 = 0 fer 2
That's not too nice...
03-15-2001, 02:04 PM
After today...Big 10 is the Small 10 ...hehehe, man I just had to razz the Big 10 Boys a bit.!
GO BIG 12....GO GO GO !!!!!!!
03-15-2001, 05:18 PM
A lil' redemption from Iowa fer the lil' 10 (11?).
10 = 1 fer 3
Big 8+4(9+3) comin' up 2nite...
03-15-2001, 09:17 PM
Redhead - Actually one for four, Indiana fell tonight too....
Now, let's see who ends up in the Final Four... If it is two Big 10 teams again, I will be happy to remind you of where true basketball championships begin and end.
Remembering that TWO of Indiana's championships were against the KU dirty birds (one against old Phileas Phogg himself) - and really enjoying it.
03-16-2001, 10:12 AM
Indiana, OSU & Wisconsin were all seeded too highly and Iowa was under seeded. IMO, Iowa should have been a 5 or 6. It's not much of a surprise that those 3 big teams lost yesterday to lower seeds.
03-16-2001, 10:26 AM
Just beTweEN you and me....how will MI_ST and Illinois do today? I beleive they'll do UM-kay.
IA ST really bit the pee-bone last night. #2 seed beeten by a 15...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm not such a strong showing for the big8.
03-16-2001, 11:24 AM
So what's the score now?
Big 9+3: 1 fer 3
zee petite 10(11?): 1 fer 4
Not a great start by either league...
I guess I'll just have to start watchin' the SEC & ACC confs; they REALLY know how to hoop down there. ;)
YAY, MY TEAM WON!!! GO MIZZOU!!!
The day's not over, but at the moment the only major conference to be undefeated is the Pac-10. Since I can't accept the idea that they could be in any way superior, I have to believe that not having a conference tourney helps them.
Last year Maryland lost to UCLA in the 2nd round by 35 points. I don't believe UCLA was really the better team, but even if they were, no way they were 35 better. I'll be curious to see next season, when the Pac-10 also has their own tourney, if those teams fare as well in the NCAA's.
