Who's going tomorrow. My college roommate and I are making the drive down from Iowa to scalp tickets. Have never been to an opening day and looking forward to it. Is there tailgating like a Chiefs game? Hope they get the season started off right.

Brianfo. My group is in need of a single ticket. What do you have?

I'm going and tailgating, but I can't find any info on when gates open. Anyone know? I've looked on the Royals' site and can't find anything.

I'd actually kill a guy for the opportunity to be there.

Ah, you're looking too. Scalping means you're selling.

heh. I have never been to opening day. It always makes more sense for me to wait a couple days when its not so packed and overpriced.

what makes Opening Day so great? What is the lure of it, I don't understand. I love baseball, but i figure as long as I go to a game in April, Im cool.

I decided to skip opening day this year in favor of watching Thursday's game featuring Zack Greinke vs. the highly-anticipated debut of Boston's Daisuke Matsuzaka.

Apparently the Royals received over 200 requests for media credentials from Japan for this game as well, who will broadcast it live over there at 3am their time.

I want to see Dice-K, too, but I can't take two days off from work. Greinke looked good when I saw him a week ago in Surprise. It should be a good match-up.

I'm going! leaving about 10:30 or 11:00 to tailgate. Supposed to be like 75 tomorrow, I just hope it's a little less windy than the last couple of days. My old man scored tickets in the pavillion, anyone ever sat there? seems pretty far away from the action, but at least I get free beer. :)

I'm not a hundred precent sure about the gates. I think it's 11 but... seek another source. I don't want to be blamed for any mishap :p

I just found out that I am going about an hour ago from a friend that I used to work with. I hadn't heard from him in about 6 months and out of nowhere he calls and tells me that I'm going. Free nonetheless.

His name is Chuy pronounced "Chewy", I never bought a lemonade from him because I was always drinking beer or margaritas, but one time I slipped him a five and told him to yell louder.

I'm going... We're leaving Cameron at 8:30am to get in line for when the gates open... We're taking about 45 beers, and some jello shots...

We're going to grill some steak, shrimp and lobster... And also grill some veggies... Should be a good time... After that we're going somewhere to watch the NCAA Finals...

If past seasons are any indication... you'll be able to get in the gate just about anytime before the game. I've been there pretty early on game days and have never ever seen the gates locked....

Gettin ready!!

Opening day at the royals is like when your mom opens her legs for the gyno exam...its 6 to 1 half dozen to the other that someone will get wet or injured and it will always be overpriced to witness the debauchery
