About 30 - 45 days ago, weren't we told by the media that there were some big trades on the way involving the Chiefs? Weren't we told that some big name and popular players would be moved because Herm really wanted to accumulate draft picks and make the team younger? So, where are the trades? I've heard rumors that Wesley might be traded. He's not a big name, popular player and he won't bring much in the way of draft picks. Were the talking about the Trent Green trade? That's it? That's supposed to be a big trade? So far, we've only been offered a 7th round pick. Big deal! Has anyone heard anything about upcoming trades? I was looking forward to seeing a real shakeup of the roster.

If we're gonna see someone like Allen or LJ moved, it won't be until the week of the draft...really, that applies to Wesley and Green too...

Offseason isn't over dude. We could still see Allen or even LJ traded.

The coach was probably talking out of his lower orifice again..

Nor Carl or the Coach have the balls or brain power to pull something off like a block-buster trade...

Examples?

Herm was involved in the trade that sent Santana Moss to the Redskins in exchange for Laverneus Coles.

Carl traded for Chester McGlockton, who was the Raiders franchise player at the time.

What did we give up for Chester?

Does anyone remember where this info came from? Who said there were multiple trades on the horizon for the Chiefs? I know I read it somewhere. I've been waiting to see something happen. But, I don't remember who reported it.

I wouldn't consider the Montana trade a "blockbuster". The guy was pretty much done at the time we acquired him.

Marcus Allen was a big-time trade.

The McGlockton trade was a bonafide blockbuster.

The McGlockton trade was a bonafide blockbuster.McGlockton was not a trade. I would not call Allen at that point in his career blockbuster same with Montana and Green. Green comes the closest.

Marcus Allen was not a trade.I wasn't sure. Actually I now recall a blockbuster trade Carl made. When he traded for Roaf, I have to give that one to him.

I can't remember.

What did the Chiefs give up for Roaf?

Conditional pick that wound up being a 3rd?

Regardless, the Chiefs were taking a risk, but I wouldn't call that a blockbuster.

You and I both know your buddy Nick was saying this stuff a while back. He said Trent was going to be traded within 1-2 weeks. I don't know if Holthus said it also but I do know Nick did.

McGlockton was the Raiders franchise player. We gave up picks to get him.

In some ways, signing him to an offer sheet that the Raiders would not match took MORE balls than just a straight trade.

Nick has never given a deadline on the Trent trade issue..but he HAS been an excellent source of information this offseason.

we gave a 2nd round draft pick after oakland fail to match our offer.

the league determine that McGlockton had 2nd round value.

i don't remember why the league had to determine value.

maybe it was because we used a poison pill and the league determine it was semi bogus ... so the penalty was a 2nd round pick sandwich pick or something like that.

wasn't a trade IIRC.

I don't remember the details, but the league stepped in and created a special franchise tag for Chet because of something screwy on Davis' part.

They ruled that any team signing Chet had to give up a second round pick and the league gave the Raiders an additional compensatory pick at the end of the first round.

Nope, 2nd round in 99 we took Mike Cloud, 2000 we took Bartee, did not see a 2nd in 98 but I am not sure if that would have been the draft year for him anyway, but you might be right.
