What are you guys thinking about the game tonight? Has Meche shown some good stuff?

I'm thinking about putting some money on them @ Baltimore tonight +130...you think the Royals can put some runs on Trachsel or what?

I think the Royals have a good shot at winning this game, but I really wouldn't be willing to put money on it.

you'd think the Royals would match up pretty well against Trachsel, though...

Seems as if they have trouble hitting pitchers with dominant fastballs...something Trachsel definitely doesn't have.

Your crazy for betting on any Royals game.

I passed on this one...the line freaking flipped on me about ten minutes ago and had the Royals +108 instead of +130...meaning everyone is taking the Royals tonight now...

I took the Phillies +135, Tigers +120 and made a HUGE bet on the Twins -145.

I thought I was the only fool who bets baseball. I took the Royals tonight, and wish I hadn't.

Royals are getting one hit today. Damned offense.

They are getting one hit, but Meche has yet to give up a run. Knock on wood, double jinx!!

Jesus. Traschel is so worried about runners on bases, that he has to do at least 3 f**king pick-off attempts each batter.

1-0, Royals lead.

Meche's final line:

6 IP, 91 total pitches, 68 strikes, 5 K's, 7 H, 0 R, 1 BB

Impressive!

Now, don't f*ck it up, Gobble...

Steve Tracshel.

STEVE TRACHSEL?!?!

As a Cardinals fan, I have seen this guy faaar more times than I dare count and I have to say, I am embarassed for the Royals today.

If your offense can only manage 1 run off Trachsel, well you might as well just contract.

I've gotten over hating the Royals, at this point I really want them to succeed. It's a disgrace to the entire state.

gordon 0-4 2k's, dude needs to slow down, not a good start for the team as a whole though either

The pitching overall has been outstanding (by recent Royals standards)

If only the bats ever come around........

Freakin' excellent job, Buddy Bell - putting Standridge in when Soria should've stayed on the mound!

Don't blame Standridge...blame Teahen, Sweeney, Gordon and German.....all 0-4.....that is the heart of our order

Both teams looked offensively inept tonight, but the middle of our batting order looked downright...ugh, 'scuse me...

Our 3-5 hitters are killing us, can't do shit on O when they bat below .200.

I think Meche could've pitched one more inning. Bob Dutton is reporting in his game story that Dotel won't be back soon. I thought somebody like Teahen would be hitting right now. Welcome to Royals baseball. It's getting better, but it's still pitiful.

Is that the standard now? Pitiful?? I guess we have moved up from abomination and hopeless.....

Said on the radio he tweaked his hamstring and they took him out just to be cautious, which I don't blame them for.

The next step is mediocre and it will take some time to get there.

If we can add a couple of pitchers and get the bats going, we'll be well on our way to a .500 season.

There's no reason we should have lost this game.

Hochevar and Lumsden aren't ready yet. Those are the guys to look forward to. It'll be nice to get Elarton and Hudson back, but how much good will that do? How much of an improvement over Perez and De La Rosa? Also, where's the power on offense? It's with Gordon and Butler, who are young. It will take more quality drafts, deals for young talent and player development to get where we want to go.

I think anyone, at this point, would be an improvement over Perez >.<

Our pithcing has been fine....when your star players like Teahen, Sweeney and the over-hyped Gordon all go 0-4 and 0-5 night in and out it is hard to blame a pitcher.

Starting pitching has been fairly solid, but I don't know if I truly trust anyone outside of Meche and Greinke to keep us in the game.

Bullpen has been hit and miss, and it will continue to be as long as Dotel and Bale are out, and guys like Jason Standridge are on the team.

That said, the offense has been pitiful so far, which is surprising since it was supposed to be our strong suit coming into this season. If the bats don't get going we are going to have another long season.

Exactly, we have had next to nothing on offense.

ChiTown

Our bats will get better, but you won't win many games when the3-4-5 hitters in your batting order are hitting a collective .138 with 2 hr's and 6 rbi over 10 games.

That's the reason we are 3-7, and not 5-5 (or better) right now.
