I've been noticing things like this regarding Fox News in the past year more and more. Not only do they consistently take things outta context but they're the King of Half Truths or speculation being reported as certain fact. At least regards those they don't like, whose views they don't like or the war. It's a classic study in propaganda. On top of that is the whole tone of voice...they are an angry bellicose lot. Ever hear an angry person tell the truth? Not I.
It used to me my news station and I still occassionally tune it, for other issues, but I turn it off more and more these days.

People who think FOX are far right are laughable. They enjoy the highest ratings in the news biz by a country mile because they aren't so left wing like ABC, CBS, PMSNBC, CNN et al. They have their share of right wing talk shows (and even then the moonbats get their fair say) but the news is generally not slanted to either side to a great degree. Lefties have a problem with FOX because FOX doesn't kiss their asses and tell them they are right all the time.

Fox is fair and balanced precisely because it's other programming is not family friendly, nor based on traditional values. They have their fair share of smut. In fact, Murdoch who owns it, broadcasts pornography into India even, which is upsetting to a religious demographic. Or so I read. Want family friendly, traditional values entertainment? Just because you don't find it funny doesn't mean it isn't. And you still haven't been able to differentiate between NEWS and COMEDY. No, a comedy show that doesn't appeal to moderates wouldn't keep them from watching FACTUAL news on the same station. They simply wouldn't watch the comedy show and watch something else instead. They do it to try to increase ratings and make money. If it works, great. If it doesn't, it gets cancelled like a stamp at the post office. With the advertising they are trying to target a certain target audience. If it doesn't pay off, they stop. All networks are the same in that regard.

New Pew Research survey: "Since the late 1980s, the emergence of 24-hour cable news as a dominant news source and the explosive growth of the internet have led to major changes in the American public's news habits. But a new nationwide survey finds that the coaxial and digital revolutions and attendant changes in news audience behaviors have had little impact on how much Americans know about national and international affairs."
The most interesting finding is that regular viewers of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart were the most knowledgeable while regular Fox News viewers knew the least.

More Fox fun. In a Kurt Vonnegut obit piece they do all of the things below in one nice little piece. Congrats!
"by the late 70's Vonnegut was rich and irrelevant."

-insults thrown at a dead man who can't defend himself
-a blanket bashing of New York City
-pointless jabs at left wingers
-mockery of high-minded art
-an attempt at raising the ire of loyal republicans by stating someone said something bad about Reagan
-a complete lack of respect for a man's life's workWow, the last quote on the video was really bad.

I question the intelligence of anyone who actually watches Fox News and doesn't see the conservative slant. It's too blatant not to see it, and it's not an opinion matter either it's just cold hard fact that they lean that way.
In summary, if you can't see it you're just dumb. Period.

I'm pretty sure that Hog Farmer is a charicature. Or maybe he's just making ridiculous statements to try to get a rise out of people. If not, and he truly believes the crap he spouts, he's one of the dumbest individuals to ever grace DC.
I'm not dumb. What's a charicature.

:p
That's about what I thought. People espousing your viewpoints (Obama was sworn in on a Koran) usually can't string words together into coherent sentences. I had hoped I was right.

Gee... I wonder why "regular Fox News viewers knew the least" in the poll.
