Well I've already promised the spokesman job to Chagrin, but you can definitely be in charge of bombing. I've also got an opening for someone who will sit next to me in Congressional hearings to make it look like I've got so much work to do that I need an aid to help me keep it all straight. Seriously, whoever is left to clean up that mess can't help but get dirty -- irredeemably so. The Iraq fiasco will haunt this administration through all eternity, just as Vietnam did to LBJ.

Although I'll mention Halliburton etc. from time to time, and certainly if there was no oil there this would never have happened, I don't think the Admin was badly intentioned. I'm sure they did think it was best for America. But destroying China as an economic competitor is also "best for America". One cannot DO all things that are best for you.

This was colossally stupid on so many levels it boggles the mind that reasonably intelligent people, with hopefully reasonably intelligent advisers, ever though this was a good idea.
