Its too bad he turned out like he did.

Watching him lead the opposition to the coup was big deal for me, that was the first time i can recall giving a damn about international politics.

I was very moved by it all.

I've never been to Russia, but I may have to start soon. I understand that alcoholism is epidemic there.

Gorby was very unpopular because he tried to lead an anti-alcohol crackdown.

I don't know what to say about him other than what Gorby said - he did a lot of good and made a lot of mistakes. Truly a parodoxical figure in history.

Eh, Yeltsin was a POS. For some reason I have a much better opinion of Gorbachev.
